As a passionate film enthusiast and someone who closely follows the latest developments in the industry, I am thrilled to see the launch of The Screen Company and its financing division, ScreenFund. With my extensive knowledge of the film and television landscape, I can’t help but be impressed by the comprehensive suite of services this new entity plans to offer.
A new company called The Screen Company has been established, offering production, sales, and financing services. Its financing arm, named ScreenFund, has recently been introduced.
I’m thrilled to be part of The Screen Company, a new entity founded by our CEO and producer, David Brown. Our mission is to cater to a diverse range of projects, from major studios to indies. As a holding company, we will provide an extensive array of services, making the production process more efficient by offering financing, completion bonds, production payroll, collection accounts, international film sales, and U.S. distribution all under one roof. It’s an exciting opportunity to streamline the industry and simplify the complexities of filmmaking.
Experienced industry professional Chris Cole has been named the new COO of ScreenFund. With a strong background in film and television production, as well as media and entertainment consulting, Cole will bring valuable expertise to his new position. Throughout his career, he has held executive producer roles on collaborations with prominent studios and streaming services such as Warner Bros., Sony, Universal, Netflix, Amazon, and Lionsgate. His latest production, “Americana,” made its debut at SXSW.
ScreenFund provides customized financing solutions for filmmakers and production companies. These options include bridge loans, completion bonds, senior debt loans, and loans based on pre-sales and tax credits. ScreenFund intends to assist projects throughout their entire production process, from the initial planning stages to the final post-production.
The Screen Company is about to introduce ScreenSales and ScreenBonds, in addition to ScreenFund, in the near future.
Brown is a self-reliant filmmaker and financier recognized for his contributions to critically acclaimed productions. He was the producer behind HBO’s “The Fallout,” which featured Jenna Ortega, Maddie Ziegler, and Shailene Woodley, and won the top prize for narrative features at SXSW in 2021. Additionally, Brown served as an executive producer on “After the Wedding,” a Sundance film starring Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, and Billy Crudup.
Brown expressed his conviction in the potency of storytelling and established The Screen Company in response. Our goal is to deliver trustworthy and adaptable financing that breathes life into remarkable stories through our finance division, ScreenFund. We’re not merely lenders; we join you on your creative odyssey, dedicated to backing you all the way. The Screen Company was built upon three foundational values: innovation, openness, and ingenuity.
