‘The Fairly OddParents’ Creator Butch Hartman Launches Indie Animation Studio to Produce Family Shows

Veteran animator Butch Hartman, known for Nickelodeon’s “The Fairly OddParents” and “Danny Phantom,” has established his own independent animation studio to create and fund original content aimed at children and families, with a focus on faith-based and mainstream programming. Butch Hartman Studios’ inaugural project is the extension of the kids series “The Garden Cartoon,” which was initially created by Hartman himself.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that my wife, Julieann, executive produced “The Garden Cartoon” season one, which is now available for streaming on Angel Studios and multiple platforms thanks to our distribution partner, N Circle Entertainment. Currently, we’re in the midst of producing season two, with plans to release several “Garden Cartoon” movies timed to Christian holidays through BMG-Global. Lastly, select songs from the series will still be managed by Capitol Records. Enjoy the magic!

The studio’s lineup for privately-funded productions encompasses several projects such as “Little Harps”, a series based at an institution training Guardian Angels to aid children on Earth, suitable for kids aged 3 to 8. Additionally, there is “Dragon Drive-Thru”, a tale about three dragons managing a fast-food stand in a medieval town, which caters to children aged 5 to 8. Lastly, we have “Family Fusion”, a story questioning whether it’s possible for two families gifted with super-science abilities to live peacefully next door without causing chaos in the neighborhood, designed for kids between 6 and 11 years old.

Butch Hartman stated that our collection of stories and programs are designed with families in focus, aiming to deliver enjoyable, secure entertainment that captivates, excites, and inspires children’s creativity. His belief in Christianity strengthens his conviction that in a world filled with much uncertainty, the value of fun and uplifting children’s media has never been more significant.

Hartman, a versatile talent, has been nominated for Emmy and Annie Awards in various roles including animator, writer, director, producer, illustrator, and actor. His show “The Fairly OddParents,” initially released in 2001, ranks among Nickelodeon’s longest-running television series, surpassed only by “SpongeBob SquarePants.” Following this series, he created “Danny Phantom,” “T.U.F.F. Puppy” and “Bunsen is a Beast.

I’m thrilled to share that this esteemed studio has assembled approximately forty talented individuals from across the globe, who specialize in animation, as part of their remote team. Among them are seasoned professionals who have previously contributed to Hartman productions, adding depth and experience to our collective efforts. Notably, my long-standing collaborator, Taylor Bradbury, serves as a senior producer within the company, further bolstering our shared vision for success.

Apart from them, Butch and Julieann Hartman are the founders of Hartman House – a charitable, non-profit organization that extends aid to underprivileged children and families globally. Meanwhile, the Butch Hartman Art Academy provides flexible learning programs and individual coaching in animation. He is managed by The Gotham Group and attorney Noël Lohr Arbaut.
