In a recent announcement, the creators at Surgent Studios unveiled their upcoming title, Dead Take, which is set to arrive quicker than expected.
I’m thrilled to share that a chilling first-person psychological horror game is set to launch for PC on July 31, as confirmed by VGC. Titled unnamed, this spine-tingling adventure stars Ben Starr and Neil Newbon and is published by PalWorld’s Pocketpair Publishing. The latest trailer has also introduced the rest of the remarkable cast, featuring BAFTA winner Jane Perry (Returnal, Hitman) and Alannah Pearce (Cyberpunk 2077, V/H/S/Beyond). I can hardly wait to join these talented artists on this terrifying journey!
Additionally, these individuals make brief appearances in the game: Laura Bailey, a BAFTA award winner known for The Last of Us Part 2; Matthew Mercer, recognized from Critical Role; Travis Willingham, famous for Marvel Rivals; CDawgVA, popular in Honkai: Star Rail; and Sam Lake, who was also the face of the original Max Payne, a game developer.
In this scenario, participants assume the character of Chase Lowry (Newbon), delving into a hidden Hollywood estate to discover the fate of his buddy Vinny Monroe (Starr). Throughout your investigation, you’ll encounter audition tapes portrayed as live-action clips, implying that actors will deliver their performances on screen.
According to creative director Abubakar Salim in a press statement, “Dead Take” focuses on actors. To accurately portray the story’s themes of ambition’s allure and corruption beneath, we sought actors who have personally experienced this. The game explores the deceptions we employ to shine in the limelight and the darkness we can fall into to maintain that position. Each member of our cast has felt this pressure. This project offered an opportunity for them to express these emotions honestly.
