The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered Finally Revealed in First-Look Gameplay — and It’s Out Today

At last, Bethesda unveiled the long-anticipated news from the gaming world: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion – Reinvented Edition.

Online, Bethesda shared a video showcasing the updated graphics and additions for the remastered version of their cherished open-world fantasy RPG. This remake is being handled by Virtuos, specialists in remakes, utilizing Unreal Engine 5.

Todd Howard, head of Bethesda, delved into the progression of Bethesda games and the visual enhancements that the nearly 20-year-old game, Oblivion Remastered, now boasts. The game operates at a resolution of 4K and runs smoothly at 60 frames per second, as one might anticipate. Various aspects such as leveling systems, character creation, combat animations, in-game menus, and more have been refined. Additionally, there’s an abundance of fresh dialogue, a genuine third-person perspective, and novel lip sync technology incorporated.

In 2006, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion made its debut, serving as a sequel to the beloved Morrowind, on both PC and Xbox 360 platforms. A PlayStation 3 version was released in 2007. This game is set within the fictional province of Cyrodiil, where the player character embarks on a mission to thwart a fanatical cult determined to create gateways to the malevolent realm called Oblivion.

Today marks the release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, available for $49.99 across PC, Xbox Series X & S, PlayStation 5, and also on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This remastered version clocks in at approximately 119.2 GB.
