The DNC Will Have Its Business Handled

As a devoted fan of Shonda Rhimes’ groundbreaking series “Scandal”, I am beyond thrilled to see Tony Goldwyn and Kerry Washington taking center stage at this year’s Democratic National Convention. Their captivating performances as Pope and President Fitzgerald Grant, respectively, have left an indelible mark on millions of viewers, myself included.

If you’re involved in politics and require a task to be handled swiftly and discreetly, there’s essentially only one individual to contact: Olivia Pope. Regrettably, she is not real, so the Democratic National Convention is opting for the next optimal choice instead. Kerry Washington, who became well-known for portraying Pope on ‘Scandal’, will serve as the last entertainment host for the DNC on August 22, as reported by NBC News Chicago. The event will commence on August 19 with Tony Goldwyn, another cast member from ‘Scandal’, who is even more renowned for his role as her on-screen lover (who was also, in actuality, the president). Shonda Rhimes, you will forever be a household name.

As a dedicated movie buff, I’m excited about the upcoming lineup for my favorite entertainment show. With Goldwyn stepping in on Monday and Washington wrapping things up on Thursday, we have two empty slots for Tuesday and Wednesday that aren’t related to Scandal. Ana Navarro, who’s usually a Republican but has a soft spot for Harris, will grace our screens on Tuesday, August 20th. On Wednesday, August 21st, we’ll see Mindy Kaling take the stage. Notable figures like President Joe Biden, Hillary and Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and many other Democrats are scheduled to speak. The keynote speeches kick off each day at 6:30 p.m. ET from Chicago. With fewer fan edits expected for these non-Scandal speakers and hosts, it promises to be an interesting week!
