After its premiere in 2023, The Devil’s Plan gained recognition as one of the top competitve TV shows on the streaming platform. Unlike the show Physical: 100 which emphasizes physical strength, participants in this series are required to rely on their intellect.

In addition to intelligence, it involves quick thinking, cleverness, and strategic planning. These skills are crucial for players who aim to collect game pieces, dodge elimination, and increase the grand prize pool – a potential value of 500 million won or approximately $358,000.

In simpler terms, the first four episodes from Season 2 of “The Devil’s Plan” debuted on Netflix on May 6, featuring the new cast and a series of intricate obstacles. However, something specific has left viewers surprised.

Even though underhanded tactics might be common in the game, it doesn’t stop spectators from criticizing players like surgeon Kim Ha-rin and poker player 7high for being overly “aggressive” or “self-centered”.

This aspect alone has received criticism, as viewers note that it’s simply a reflection of the plot in the Netflix series “The Devil’s Plan.” On Reddit, someone wondered, “Why are viewers surprised by the cunning moves made by the characters in ‘The Devil’s Plan’?

In “The Devil’s Scheme,” it’s surprising to see so many viewers taken aback by the characters exhibiting deceitful, manipulative, and untruthful behaviors. I assumed people would expect such traits to be commonplace in a game-like setting.

I can’t understand why fans would criticize players for playing the game as intended. It seems strange to me that someone would be a fan of a show and yet dislike essential parts of it.

“There is only one winner, so when players try to play to win, why are they called ‘selfish’?”

You may face criticism for saying this, but you’re absolutely correct! I’m finding myself in agreement as I watch the recent season of The Traitors and observe the chaos unfolding on Reddit, chuckling to myself.

Some individuals hold a more tactful perspective, such as this one who expressed, “From where I stand, it’s clear that both viewpoints are valid in this case. Many people here understand that deceit, betrayal, and self-interest could occur within this game, given its nature.

A collection of players who consistently act with honesty and integrity might not provide an engaging viewing experience for the gameplay or the series as a whole. Therefore, it’s understandable that we could tolerate or even expect such unconventional actions, even from our preferred players.

It seems that many spectators expect players to be accountable for their actions, which is why some might not favor the partnership between Eunyu and Harin in this specific instance. However, I personally don’t share those feelings.

From my perspective, while I can understand where they’re coming from and their logic seems quite sound, there are numerous minor actions that stir unease within me. And the fact that Eunyu aligned with a three-person group instead of considering my proposal regarding the prison situation might have been the tipping point for me in this situation, Justin.

From a gaming perspective, they didn’t make any mistakes, but their handling of Justin socially left much to be desired, leading to discontent among certain spectators.
