In the latest Nintendo Direct event for the anticipated release of the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo highlighted a special segment called Partner Spotlight, where they displayed various third-party games that will soon be accessible on the new console. Some of these games, such as Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Hades 2, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, are scheduled to be adapted for the console. These titles will join an impressive lineup of exclusive Nintendo releases.
As a devoted gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake is one of the third-party games slated for the Switch 2 consoles. This epic game is gradually making its way onto other platforms apart from the PlayStation 5. Not long ago, Nintendo unveiled their latest Creator’s Voice update, where game director Naoki Hamaguchi hinted at the impending release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake on the Switch 2 console.

In a recent Nintendo Creator’s Voice video, the director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Naoki Hamaguchi, along with his team, talked about “how they redesigned one of the most recognized games ever for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.” However, it’s important to note that as of now, there is no confirmed release date for Final Fantasy 7 Remake on the Nintendo Switch 2, even though its launch is scheduled for June 5th, 2025.
During the Nintendo Creator’s Voice interview, Hamaguchi discussed the console’s capabilities and its ability to run Final Fantasy 7 Remake using its hardware, implying that the console has sufficient power for the game. He further expressed his sentiment about having a Final Fantasy game on a contemporary Nintendo system, stating, “The original game provided me with the chance to enter the video game industry, it feels as if it was destiny.
Afterward, he shared intriguing thoughts about potentially transferring the remaining games to the console, such as Rebirth and an unnamed one. In a perfect world, I’d be thrilled if the new and old players could connect and forge a relationship through these characters with the release of Final Fantasy 7 remake part 2 on Switch 2.
