Actor Jensen Ackles, known for his role as Ben/Soldier Boy in the popular Amazon series “The Boys,” offered a sneak peek at what’s to come for his character in the forthcoming prequel series titled “Vought Rising.” Since its debut on Prime Video in July 2019, “The Boys” has gained international acclaim and spawned several spin-offs. The upcoming series, “Vought Rising,” is set in the ’50s and primarily revolves around Soldier Boy and Aya Cash’s character Stormfront.
Jensen Ackles says Vought Rising will be a ‘coming-of-age story’ for Soldier Boy
Recently, Jared Padalecki (Ackles) attended Creation Entertainment’s The Road So Far… The Road Ahead: Creation Novi, Michigan convention commemorating 20 years of Supernatural. During this event, he discussed Vought Rising. As shared by @FangasmSPN on a video, the actor mentioned that Vought Rising would provide a unique perspective on the Vought world as it delves into “the beginning stages of its creation.
The former star of Days of Our Lives went on to give insight into the character development of Soldier Boy in the prequel series. Ackles mentioned, “To be honest, Soldier Boy hasn’t spent much time being the person he is now.” This suggests that Ackles’ character in Vought Rising will grapple with self-discovery and transformation. He further explained, “It’s almost like a journey of self-discovery for him [Soldier Boy],” delving into his past and future.
Jensen Ackles shared that the series Vought Rising will explore Soldier Boy’s past and his hidden insecurities. He added, “Over the years, he has skillfully concealed these feelings and crafted a tough exterior like the one we see on The Boys. However, this storyline is going to strip him bare, revealing more vulnerability from him.
When a spectator inquired if Vought Rising would disclose the surname of the character Ben, Ackles responded by saying he wasn’t aware of the character’s family name. With a touch of humor, he playfully suggested that perhaps the character’s last name could be “Boy.
In Season 3, Jared Ackles first appeared on The Boys, but as of now, there’s no set release date for Vought Rising.
