The season 2 finale of Gen V revealed a significant weakness in one of the most powerful super-powered individuals within The Boys universe.
At first, Gen V told its own separate story with only small connections to the larger plot of The Boys. But as the show has gone on, it’s become more and more connected to its parent series. As an example of this connection, Gen V has introduced a major character from The Boys.
As season 4 of The Boys neared its conclusion, a particular superpowered character emerged as one of the most formidable villains in the series. But the very end of Gen V season 2 showed this same character making an unexpected error, proving that even the most powerful beings have vulnerabilities and can slip up.
Sister Sage’s Miscalculation In Gen V Season 2 Points To A Major Weakness For The Supe
In season 4 of The Boys, Sister Sage was presented as the most intelligent person on Earth. While she isn’t physically strong compared to most superheroes in the show, her incredible intelligence gives her a huge advantage. She’s already proven how powerful she is – even in this season, she managed to convince Homelander that he needs to listen to her if he wants to maintain his power.
Okay, so after watching season 2 of Gen V, I’m starting to think Sister Sage isn’t the untouchable powerhouse she appeared to be in The Boys season 4. It’s fascinating to see her working with Thomas Godolkin, trying to help him get his body back with the goal of bringing him over to her and Homelander’s side. But honestly, it’s a classic mistake – she’s clearly got feelings for him, and it’s clouding her judgment. She’s so caught up in her romantic side that she can’t seem to predict what Godolkin is really after.
Godolkin chooses to ignore Sister Sage’s request and refuses to meet with Homelander. This ruins her carefully laid plan to bring them together, and ultimately leads to Godolkin’s death. This outcome in Gen V season 2 demonstrates that Sister Sage can be swayed by her feelings, clouding her judgment and preventing her from making rational choices.
Sister Sage’s Shortcoming Could Be Used Against Her In The Boys Season 5

Sister Sage briefly became the most powerful superpowered individual in The Boys universe when she controlled Homelander in season 4. However, a mistake she made in season 2 of Gen V has created a vulnerability. Now, either Homelander or Starlight’s team could use this weakness against her in the upcoming season 5 of The Boys.
Cate could potentially use her power to influence emotions, manipulating the other person to support Starlight’s side. Alternatively, Homelander could exploit her past mistake of trusting Godolkin, using it to control her and ensure she follows his instructions in the future.
Gen V Season 2’s Ending Will Make It Harder To Trick Sage A Second Time
Sister Sage is the most intelligent person with powers in the world of The Boys, so she’s almost certainly aware of her mistakes. Because of this, it’s likely she’ll protect herself before anyone can take advantage of her again. She’ll probably also think more carefully before letting her feelings influence her decisions going forward.
Rather than trusting her gut feelings, she’ll now depend on her incredible intelligence. This will make her increasingly hard to defeat. While Sage will still be dealing with the consequences of her actions in Gen V season 2, the experiences she gained will probably make her even stronger when The Boys season 5 begins.
