I can’t believe it’s taken some people this long to figure out what’s been going on with Ryan Butcher in The Boys! We’re almost six years and five seasons in, and it’s wild to see some fans just now connecting the dots. It’s like, where have you been?!

The last season of the Prime Video show just launched, and fans are eager to see how the conflict between Butcher and Homelander will play out.

Key characters such as Sister Sage, Soldier Boy, and Starlight will play important roles in what happens next, along with Ryan, who is Homelander’s son.

Following the accidental death of Grace in Season 4 of The Boys, Ryan has disappeared. However, he’s also the subject of much discussion for other reasons this week.

A fan shared a photo on Reddit this week of the twin actors on set with Antony Starr, who plays Homelander, and commented, “I just realized there are two Ryans!”

If you watched the HBO series Big Little Lies, you might already know that Cameron and Nicholas played twins on the show.

Some fans seem surprised by this news, while others are pointing out the advantages of using twins for the roles.

One person explained that using twins on set allows for more flexibility in filming. Because there are limits to how long children can work each day, the twins can switch places to keep production moving.

It’s very common to use multiple child actors for a role. There are strict rules about how long children can work on set, so having two actors allows filming to proceed more smoothly and efficiently.

However, only one of the boys consistently plays the role of Ryan. Someone else—likely his brother—has been filling in as a stand-in, which is accurate.

I learned that Cameron Crovetti usually plays Ryan, but back in Season 2, his brother actually stepped in to play him in a few scenes. Pretty cool, right?

You won’t believe this, but Homelander’s son, Ryan, has actually been played by three different actors! If you go back and watch the very end of Season 1 when we first meet Ryan, he looks a little younger, and that’s because Parker Corno played him then.

The casting team replaced the original actor with Cameron Crovetti because the role required a child actor with more experience handling complex emotions.

Where is Ryan in The Boys Season 5?

It’s still unclear where Ryan is, but trailers for The Boys Season 5 suggest he’ll appear later in the season. Vought International is publicly claiming he’s currently at a boarding school in Norway.

The most probable reason he’s missing is that he’s still fleeing after unintentionally killing Grace Mallory in Season 4. However, fans have naturally come up with their own ideas about what happened.

There’s a lot of speculation about Black Noir’s strange actions in Season 5. Some fans have plausible theories, but others think it might actually be Ryan disguised as him.

Okay, so I was reading Reddit about ‘The Boys’ and someone pointed out a really interesting moment. Apparently, around 7:40 into the episode, Homelander is talking about rumors surrounding his son, and Sister Sage casually mentions that not everyone knows about Ryan… and then adds, ‘sorry he’s at boarding school.’ You can totally see Homelander get annoyed by that comment, which is a pretty telling moment, I think.

One theory is that Homelander killed Black Noir 2. However, it’s also possible Ryan was responsible. Currently, there’s no evidence to confirm either way, so it’s equally likely that it was Ryan or Black Noir 2.

Someone commented on a post about the two Ryans, suggesting one of them was Black Noir. Another fan quickly agreed, saying they also believed Black Noir was Ryan.

The constant references to Noir being silent and Ryan being at ‘boarding school’ strongly imply that Ryan is actually Noir, according to one observer.
