Eric Kripke says that Gen V Season 2 ends in a way that is “really setting up” The Boys Season 5.
The show’s spin-off has delved into how Vought and Homelander (Antony Starr) have taken advantage of young superheroes at Godolkin University. Last season revealed that Thomas Godolkin (Ethan Slater) was secretly planning something sinister for students with weaker or unwanted abilities.
The episode also revealed a shocking connection: Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) was created through Project Odessa – the very same program that gave Homelander his abilities. This makes her exceptionally powerful and potentially one of the only heroes capable of harming the dangerous supervillain.
But outside of Marie’s powers, Kripke revealed how Gen V will kick things off in The Boys Season 5.
The Resistance is on the backfoot when The Boys Season 5 starts

Kripke complimented Gen V’s showrunner, Michele Fazekas, on the finale, noting that the characters officially siding with Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and the resistance perfectly sets up the next season of The Boys.
You know, what I really think Michele Fazekas nailed with the show is building this sense of a real resistance movement starting up. It’s like, there’s this whole underground network forming to fight back against Homelander and what he’s turning America into – basically a fascist state. It feels like things are really starting to bubble up, and I’m here for it!
We discussed the French Resistance, a genuine underground movement that actively fought back against the occupation.

He also mentioned that Season 5 of The Boys will be set six months after Season 2 of Gen V, and it doesn’t look promising for our heroes.
Season 5 of The Boys starts roughly six months after the events of Gen V Season 2. The story immediately dives into the conflict between the underground movement and the oppressive government, and things aren’t going well, to say the least.
The young heroes from Gen V will likely be crucial in the fight against Homelander, but it’s still uncertain exactly how that will unfold. In the meantime, you can find out about the possibility of a Gen V Season 3, all the appearances from characters in The Boys within Gen V, and details about upcoming spin-offs like Vought Rising.
