One piece of intriguing news is that the game’s length has been planned. Yet, what caught my attention most was the developer’s disclosure that the game will not impose excessive restrictions on killing Non-Player Characters (NPCs).

It’s a sandbox, meaning we’re trying to maximize your options of your choice in the game.

The Blood of Dawnwalker will allow to kill “many” NPCs

The developers have consistently referred to their game as a “narrative sandbox” since its initial reveal. This reflects their expertise in storytelling, gained from past projects such as The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. While they’re not planning to restrict the freedom offered, it should still be plentiful, though not boundless.

While there are definite limitations, such as the predefined character named Coen with his unique traits, our goal is to empower you by allowing you to mold your own version of Coen within these boundaries. For instance, we offer you the freedom to eliminate numerous Non-Player Characters (NPCs), including some who hold significant roles in the game’s narrative.

The term “a lot of” implies that some characters within the game may be invincible or unkillable. It’s not clear if this applies consistently or only at certain points in the narrative. Despite this ambiguity, the developers at Rebel Wolves Studio have chosen to tackle a challenging project, which demands careful planning, as numerous possibilities, contingent upon player decisions, must be accounted for.

As a gamer, I often find myself facing choices that can dramatically alter storylines or even block entire quest paths. This aspect of the game is intricately connected with other elements… You see, being a Dawnwalker comes with its own challenges – a blood hunger that surfaces during the night. If I’m not cautious, this craving could inadvertently lead to NPC deaths.

First, let’s discuss the practical application before we can witness it; patience is required as we need to wait a little longer. For now, the release date for The Blood of Dawnwalker has yet to be announced, but you can anticipate viewing some fresh gameplay snippets during the summer. The game will ultimately be available on PC, PS5, and both Xbox Series X/S platforms.
