The Blood Of Dawnwalker Trailer Unleashes The Vampire Within

Back in the start of this year, the debut game from Rebel Wolves, a studio co-founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the director of The Witcher 3, was revealed. Titled The Blood of Dawnwalker, it places players in a medieval realm under vampire rule. However, the protagonist, Coen, can combat these rulers using his own vampire abilities, as shown in the recently unveiled trailer for Xbox Games Showcase.

In the heart of the 14th century, I find myself immersed in the action-RPG world of Vale Sangora, a realm that’s been gripped by the iron grasp of vampires for two years now. My character, Coen, and his sister Lunka, were on the brink of execution before Brencis, a leader among the vampires, intervened. They saved us from our fate, but at a steep price: the kingdom is under their rule, and I’ve been partially transformed into one of them. The struggle for freedom and redemption lies ahead.

Coen’s change into a full vampire is incomplete due to his silver toxicity. As a daywalker, he transforms into a human during the day and reacquires his vampire abilities at night. The trailer showcases some of the skills that come with Coen’s vampiric nature, such as climbing walls and increased strength. However, it appears he lacks these capabilities while in his daywalker form.

In the game Dawnwalker, Coen has 30 days and nights, provided by The Blood of Dawnwalker, to rescue his family from an impending doom. Players get to decide how best to utilize this limited time, such as opting for additional missions or deciding which allies to enlist in the fight against the vampires. Interestingly, not all residents of Vale Sangora are opposed to the regime, despite having to pay a blood tax for their supposed protection.

In the year 2026, Bandai Namco plans to unveil “The Blood of Dawnwalker” for play on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers (PC).
