The Best Xbox Game Pass RPGs

On Xbox Game Pass, a variety of role-playing games (RPGs) are now available across its various plans, thanks to releases from Xbox Game Studios, third-party developers, independent studios, and more. Although the game selection may shift over time, we’ve compiled a list of top RPG recommendations on Xbox Game Pass that cover console, PC, standard, and Ultimate membership levels.

Rather than having individual game subscriptions based on platforms, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offers access to all the games in one package. We’ve made sure to specify which tier a particular game belongs to when relevant.

What is the difference between every Xbox Game Pass subscription tier?

Initially, Microsoft has given Game Pass a bit of a perplexing feel due to the renaming of older plans and some rebranding adjustments. For instance, Xbox’s Games with Gold has been revamped as Xbox Game Pass Core, but this particular tier isn’t the focus of today’s article because its selection is quite limited. Instead, let’s delve into the following versions of Game Pass:

1. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
2. Xbox Game Pass PC
3. Xbox Game Pass Console
4. EA Play (included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate)

This article will provide insights on these specific tiers of Game Pass.

  • Xbox Game Pass Standard – Hundreds of games, multiplayer, and deals. This also includes online multiplayer on console.
  • PC Game Pass – Hundreds of games, new games on day one, EA Play, and deals.
  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – Hundreds of games across PC/console/cloud, EA play, new games day one, perks, and deals. This also includes online multiplayer on console.
  • Xbox Game Pass for Console – This subscription isn’t available for new members, but existing members still have access to it. It is basically Xbox Game Pass Standard with a few more games, but without online multiplayer.

Which Xbox Game Pass subscription is worth it?

If you’re strictly a PC gamer, then Game Pass for PC is your ideal choice. It encompasses all the key features of Game Pass Ultimate at a lower price. On the console side, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate provides the most value with access to new games on release day, EA Play, exclusive benefits, and discounts. However, to play EA Play games on PC, you’ll need to install the EA App and have an EA account.

What is Xbox Play Anywhere?

In simpler terms, when a game supports Xbox Play Anywhere, it means you only need to buy it once and can play it on either your PC or console. Plus, your saved game data will be synced between both platforms. However, there are some games in Game Pass that work on both PC and console, but they don’t allow for save syncing. I’ve made sure to note this for each individual game.

I trust that this short clarification has aided your comprehension of the various levels. Let’s move on to the games now.
