The Best Sunday Build And Play Guide In Honkai: Star Rail

As a seasoned Honkai: Star Rail player with countless hours spent navigating the intricate world of this captivating game, I must say that Sunday is undoubtedly one of my favorite characters to use. His unique abilities and synergy with other Imaginary DPS characters make him an absolute gem in any team composition.

If you’ve been playing Honkai: Star Rail for a bit, you probably already understand that the developers often make character launches quite appealing, and this was true even with the character introduced on Sunday. Initially displayed at the start of the Penacony arc, players didn’t get to play this character until Version 2.7.

On Sundays, I find myself fielding a top-tier Imaginary Harmony character who truly shines by accelerating the battle pace for one of my team members. If I construct him meticulously, this particular character can single-handedly boost the damage output of my main DPS to striking heights.

Best Sunday Relics And Planar Ornaments

Kick off the process of creating any character by selecting optimal set bonuses for their relics and planar decorations. Here’s a list of top picks for today:

TypeNameSynergy With Sunday
RelicsSacerdos’ Relived OrdealThis is the best relic set for Sunday as it enhances the Crit DMG boost he provides by a massive 36 percent as long as you consistently use your Skill on the same ally.
Messenger Traversing HackerspaceAs a second option until you have the above set, you can try Messenger Traversing Hackerspace on Sunday for the increased SPD and team-wide buff upon using the Ultimate.
Planar OrnamentsLushaka, the Sunken SeasThis is the best ornament set for Sunday as it can help him give an ATK bonus to the main DPS alongside all the other buffs he provides. However, you have to make sure that your DPS is in the first slot of the team.
Broken KeelBroken Keel is another great set for Sunday as it can enhance his Crit DMG buff and also requires you to have some Effect RES, which can prevent him from getting crowd-controlled.
Sigonia, the Unclaimed DesolationFinally, while not as good, you can also try the Sigonia set in endgame modes like Pure Fiction since his increased Crit DMG will also increase the buff he provides.

Sunday Relic Stat Priority

As a gamer, I find that acquiring the optimal relic stats every Sunday can sometimes seem effortless yet challenging due to the element of luck involved. It merely requires a handful of specific stats to hit just right.

TypeMain Stat PrioritySub Stat Priority
HeadHPCrit DMG > SPD > Effect RES > HP/DEF

BodyCrit DMGSPD > Effect RES > HP/DEF

It would be ideal if your SPD (Speed) was significantly higher or slightly slower compared to your main Damage Per Second (DPS) on Sunday, as I’ll explain further below.

Best Sunday Light Cones

The Best Sunday Build And Play Guide In Honkai: Star Rail

In Honkai: Star Rail, Light Cones function as the primary tools or equipment for the characters. It’s crucial to select an option that complements the character effectively.

A Grounded AscentAs you’d expect, Sunday’s signature Light Cone serves as the best choice for him as it gives him some necessary Energy Regen while also increasing the DMG of the main DPS by up to 45 percent. Since Sunday is skill-point-negative, this cone also helps that by providing a free point for every two Skill or Ultimate usage.
But The Battle Isn’t OverBronya’s signature Light Cone is a close second for this character as it does almost everything similarly except for the 30 percent DMG bonus instead of 45. The SP also regenerates slower with this one.
Earthly EscapadeFinally, this Light Cone can also be used on Sunday as you can easily maintain the Mask effect since he consistently regenerates Skill Points when his Skill is applied on a Beatified ally.
Past And FutureThis Light Cone will simply give your main DPS a 32 percent DMG boost whenever Sunday advances their movement forward.
Planetary RendezvousIf you’re using Sunday with another Imaginary DPS like Dr. Ratio or Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae, you can use this Light Cone to get an added bonus.
Carve the Moon, Weave the CloudsFinally, this Light Cone is good for almost every Harmony character since it simply provides one buff at random whenever the equipped character gets a turn.

Sunday Skill Overview And Priority

Fortunately, Sunday is quite straightforward to comprehend, and here are some details about him:

  • Upon using your Skill on an ally, the target ally and their summon instantly gets a turn, has a debuff removed (crowd control debuffs are usually prioritized), and gets a damage bonus. The damage bonus is higher if the ally has a summon.
  • When you use your Ultimate on an ally, Sunday increases their Crit DMG based on his own while also making the target Beatified. This lasts for three turns, and using your Skill on the Beatified instantly regenerates a Skill Point.
  • He also provides a whopping 20 percent Crit Rate to the target upon using his Skill and gets a bunch of Energy regen bonus to get his Ultimate faster.
  • It’s ideal to have Sunday’s SPD one or two points lower than your main DPS since that’ll lead to your situation where your DPS gets a turn right before Sunday, and then Sunday can advance their movement forward again.

Fundamentally, since Sunday’s fundamental attack won’t be utilized much, it can be disregarded. As for the talents you should prioritize upgrading, follow this sequence: Skill first, then Ultimate, and finally Talent. Additionally, aim to unlock bonus abilities and side nodes as quickly as feasible.
