In the Forbidden Lands, a fearsome creature is causing chaos and distress among the inhabitants. The Guild has tasked you with venturing there to aid the locals and eliminate this menacing force that poses a grave danger to the ecosystem. If left unchecked, these lands may face extinction. So, it’s up to you to embark on a thrilling hunt in Monster Hunter Wilds.
In each fresh Monster Hunter game, the focus often shifts towards the latest characters joining the series. Yet, it’s important not to forget the reappearance of some familiar enemies from earlier games. Here’s a rundown of these developments for you.
7.
Yian Kut-Ku
Kut-tucky Fried Chicken
In this new installment, the beloved fiery chicken character, Yian Kut-Ku, reappears after his descent into the underworld! With moves that are as iconic as ever, beware not to underestimate him despite appearing less challenging.
After completing the main quest and achieving a higher rank, your initial encounter will be a group of three; amusing antics follow, and you’re compelled to engage them in combat whether you’re ready or not. I wish you success against that irate Pollo!
6.
Blangonga

In the game Wilds, the Blangonga returns from Generations Ultimate, and its location in the Iceshard Cliffs feels fitting once encountered. Although it may seem unassuming at first glance, beware of its deceptive simplicity as its aggressive behavior and icy assaults can lead to lethal outcomes.
Blangonga possesses an effortless ability to deliver a lethal punch, similar to lifting a massive piece of ice from beneath the ground. On the other hand, smaller Blangos are capable of causing significant annoyance. It’s best to get rid of them quickly to avoid being pestered or being lifted off the ground and then turned into their primary focus – that formidable adversary.
5.
Gypceros
Is It Dead? Is It Not?

Players had the opportunity to give the iconic monster Gypceros, from the Monster Hunter series’ debut, a few whacks during the Wilds beta. With the official release, this poison-focused creature is set to present quite a challenge due to its cunning and deceptive nature.
When you’ve caused enough harm to Gypceros, it will feign death and the game’s music will cease. But don’t be fooled, it’s a trick! Keep your distance because it will soon revive and attack you with its beak. What an underhanded creature indeed.
4.
Congalala
Don’t Let The Conga Distract You From That Cloud

Interestingly, one of the initial creatures you’ll encounter in this game is quite amusing – the Congalala! It’s eager to dance with your Hunter, but there’s a catch: focus on striking its tail repeatedly, yet be careful not to target its rear end as that can get a bit perplexing.
When Congalala grows irritated, it selects a mushroom to consume, which modifies its attacks with various elements based on the chosen mushroom. However, its most frustrating trick is emitting potent farts, causing a massive brown fog that temporarily prohibits you from utilizing your items whenever it occurs.
3.
Rathian
The Poison Queen Rules With An Iron Fist

In the series, the Venomous Monarch reappears, as it’s consistently featured. The dinosaur Rathian displays its traditional moves, including massive jumps into the air, flamethrower assaults, and poison-infused strategies, ensuring that encounters with this creature are consistently difficult.
Just as expected, its weaponry and armor sets consistently stand out as highly valuable throughout the game. Consequently, you can anticipate yourself repeatedly engaging in its battles until you acquire all potential gear.
2.
Rathalos
The King Of The Skies Flies High

As you progress through the primary campaign, you’ll come across a more hostile variant of a familiar creature. But when you reach High-Rank missions, don’t be surprised if you run into the renowned aerial beast, the Sky’s Ruler, Rathalos, fairly quickly.
Learning to evade, strike, and respond to this series’ primary antagonist, renowned for its fiery attacks and aggressive nature, will be quite challenging. Given that Rathian has returned, it’s only natural that its beloved counterpart follows suit.
1.
Gore Magala
The Frenzied Beast Returns

Initially introduced as the star monster in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Gore Magala later emerges as the principal antagonist in the game’s post-storyline, orchestrating a malicious contamination on Dragontorch. As Fabius delves deeper, he swiftly gathers hints and readies for the impending crisis.
It’s great to have the opportunity to witness a battle with Gore Magala in this series, and the icing on the cake is the music that includes references to the opening song from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Just beware of its Frenzy Virus or you might find yourself losing quite quickly!
