Furthermore, the creators of “How to Train Your Dragon” are planning additional events, including masterclasses and exclusive screenings. Notably, Chris Sanders, director of “The Wild Robot,” is set to conduct a masterclass. In an exciting turn of events, “The Wild Robot” will be returning to Annecy for a unique open-air screening at Le Paquier Park, as part of the festival’s outdoor programming.

At DreamWorks, we’re dedicated to sharing tales that highlight the imagination and uniqueness of our filmmakers, asserts Margie Cohn, President of DreamWorks Animation. We take great satisfaction in nurturing a workspace where artists are motivated to venture beyond their comfort zones and experiment with innovative methods of storytelling. Annecy has consistently been a platform for this spirit, and we’re thrilled to be back this year, to unveil our recent creations to the global animation fraternity.

This year’s presentations showcase the continuous progression of our studio, driven by Cohn’s leadership, which blends acclaimed franchise narratives with daring original concepts. We’re approaching Annecy after an impressive run of three consecutive box office No. 1 openings within a year – “Kung Fu Panda 4,” “The Wild Robot,” and “Dog Man” being the successful releases that have marked this streak.

On June 12th, Sanders’ Masterclass is set at MIFA Campus. During this special event, Sanders will discuss his long-lasting influence on the animation industry, share insights into his creative methods, and talk about his return to DreamWorks Animation. Additionally, he will be part of the festival’s jury for short films, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to the festival since his Annecy debut in 2024.

As a passionate moviegoer, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be introducing the screening of “The Wild Robot”. This movie made waves at last year’s festival, receiving two standing ovations following its early screenings by none other than me. Since its September 2024 release, it has gathered an impressive collection of over 85 industry awards. Among these accolades are nine Annie Awards, the Critics Choice Award for Best Animated Feature, and the Producers Guild of America Award for Outstanding Animated Theatrical Motion Picture. This screening serves as a joyous celebration of the film’s success and my triumphant return to the studio after more than a decade. Don’t miss out on this incredible cinematic experience!

DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming film lineup underscores their dedication to imaginative narratives and refreshing franchise revisions. Among these projects is “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie,” set for release on September 26. Ahead of that, on September 25, 2026, audiences can expect “Forgotten Island,” an original journey created by the team behind “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

As previously announced, “Shrek 5” will be released on December 23, 2026.
