The Bachelorette Recap: The Most Boring Hometowns in Recent Memory

Well, well, well, let me tell ya ’bout these dates, folks! First off, we got Jeremy from Fairfield, Connecticut. Now, this fella seems like a nice enough guy, but his hometown’s got some serious competition with its haunted animatronics and cow mascots, if you catch my drift! And their inside joke? Funny the first time, but now it’s just getting old as a farmhand’s overalls.

“I’m just really excited to see his hometown and meet his family!”

“I really need to let my walls down and express how I’m feeling.”

“So what makes you so interested in my son.”

“He allows me to be myself without any restrictions, making me feel deeply comprehended. Our moments together are enjoyable, yet he hasn’t shared his feelings with me.”

As a fellow film enthusiast, I’ve got a piece of advice that might be helpful: “If you don’t want to lose the one you care for, you’ll need to lower your defenses. I understand it can feel terrifying, but trust me, the love is worth the risk.”

“I’m falling for you.”

“That makes me really happy.”

Repeat four times and roll the rose ceremony.

Oh my goodness, this week’s episode of The Bachelorette was incredibly dull! I can’t help but feel unapologetic about it. Honestly, what on earth is going on with the show that we can’t even manage to get one intriguing or dramatic Hometown date? It seemed like all four dates were carbon copies of each other. Yes, I know “Devin” spoke, “said,” “I,” “love,” or whatever, but each and every Hometown date followed the exact same storyline and rhythm. Even Ali Barthwell, a three-time Emmy award winner and winner of an Instagram giveaway for an earring case, is finding it hard to find words to describe this. In fact, I almost forgot Marcus was even a contestant because I was so bored! I would often find myself thinking, “There’s going to be four Hometown dates… who gets the last one? Oooohhhh, the guy who packed an American flag in his suitcase and really doesn’t want you to search ‘Marcus Bachelorette reddit’ right now.” This episode was a complete letdown. They had so much spare time during the episode that they even added a shot of the guys getting a beer? The visual style of this show is quite distinct, and “Season two Vanderpump Rules Guys’ Night” is certainly not it.

Hey there, Jenn!

the gong is quite interesting.” Devin also mentioned that his parents are divorced and his stepfather is named Todd. However, it seems there’s something more complex going on in their family dynamics, but it’s not necessarily negative.

As a diehard fan, I’ve got to express my thoughts! Could it be anyone else but Devin? It just feels right, you know? He’s the one who brings out her most excited responses when he declares his love. Here’s how I see it unfolding: Marcus gets eliminated during Fantasy Suites, leaving doubt about whether he’ll even spend the night. Instead, Jonathan and Devin go on their Final Two dates. In a surprising turn of events, she pops the question to Devin, wrapping up the season. After the Final Rose, Devin admits that he and Jenn had deep conversations about his Instagram likes, learning to be more open-minded. Jenn then reveals her plans to join Dancing with the Stars as the smallest contestant ever. And to top it all off, they bring out 5-7 Instagram sensations for Grant. Let’s not forget the bloopers at the end!

So let’s get into it in whatever way we can.

I’d like to give a nod to Jonathan’s sibling and his fiancée, an adorable couple who found each other on Tinder and professed their affection on the third date. Turning to my own significant other, whom I also met on Tinder and declared my love for after just two and a half dates, I whispered, “That’s our story.”

Maybe at this point, we just gotta do a quick review of the guys and their pros and cons.

Devin

Devin’s hometown is in Houston, Texas.

Advantages:

1. Criticisms:

By the end of the Hometown date, Devin tells her he loves her, and she’s ready to say it back.

Jeremy

Jeremy’s hometown is in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Positives:

1. Drawback: The humor of their private joke initially wore off.

In the entire episode, only Jeremy’s mother offers resistance – softly and sincerely – as she sipped on her glass of white wine. She could be seen as a Connecticut mom with discernment, albeit subtly judgmental, but ultimately insightful. A beacon of wisdom in these challenging times for Jeremy. Despite his claims of falling for Jenn, he admits it’s not “Falling in love” yet – perhaps we skipped a rung on the feelings ladder?

Jonathan

Jonathan’s date is in San Diego, California.

1. Jonathan and Jenn are an adorable athletic pair, much like the popular couple in high school who excelled in sports individually.

Cons:
• Honestly … where are the cons? I’m struggling to find any??

At the conclusion of their outing, he confides in Jennifer Trann that he’s developing feelings for her, which is quite endearing. Let’s refrain from delving into Jonathan’s history; I’d like to preserve this moment as a cherished memory.

Time for the rose cere…

Oh fuck! I forgot Marcus again.

Marcus

His date is in Tacoma, Washington.

As a fervent admirer, let me share my thoughts:

1. Negative points to consider:

As the sun sets on our hometown visit, I find myself confessing my burgeoning feelings for Jenn – a moment she’s eagerly anticipated.

Next, the group travels to a brewery, where their self-assuredness may leave Marcus feeling unsure and setting the stage for the plot leading into Fantasy Suites. Back at the Bachelor mansion, it’s time for the final Rose Ceremony, and WOW, JENN!!! The way she’s dressed in this white gown with a faux fur wrap is simply stunning. Although this outfit is not as elegantly crafted as Pilot Rachel’s first night dress, when a woman as fabulous as her struts in, admiration is inevitable!

Ultimately, Devin, Jonathan, and Marcus receive roses and are moving on to Fantasy Suites. Yes, it was Jeremy who was sent home, and he seemed like the type of guy your friend ends up marrying who you think, “Yeah, I appreciate Jeremy. No complaints,” after she dates the most tumultuous barista ever known.

Next week: two back-to-back nights! Fantasy Suites and The Men Tell All!
