Fashion events usually display intriguing designs that might not be practical for everyday wear, but it seems like the video game The Alters is preparing to enter this realm. Fresh from its release earlier this month, 11 bit studios and ZA/UM Atelier have announced that a select range of clothing inspired by the sci-fi survival game will debut during Paris Fashion Week. What’s even more exciting is that these fashion items can now be preordered!
Enthusiasts of the game have the option to acquire three distinctive items: Jan Dolski’s mission jacket, utility pants, and the adorable Dolly Baa-Baag. These pieces mimic the style of clothing worn by Dolski in the game, blending a relaxed fit with reflective accents and bold hues – perfect for racing against time to avoid fatal doses of solar radiation while stranded on an unforgiving alien planet. The Dolly Baa-Baag is also endearing, as it pays homage to the mute sidekick from the game.
The clothing can be bought from the ZA/UM Atelier store, but keep in mind that it’s rather pricey. For instance, the mission jacket goes for approximately $460, the utility pants are $230, and the bag is nearly $200.
In a press release, The Alters’ game director Tomasz Kisilewicz expressed that the game explores the question of who we are and what could have been, focusing on how we portray ourselves to others through fashion, facial expressions, and minor personal details. These aspects, he said, are closely linked to our lives and decisions. The collaboration with ZA/UM Atelier seemed like a logical extension of this philosophy, representing identity via design. He’s eager to see the community’s reaction to this unique blend.
The game titled “The Alters” is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Game reviewer Alessandro Barbosa rated it 8 out of 10, praising it as an immersive survival adventure that skillfully blends introspective self-reflection with base management gameplay.
