In 2026, Disney+ plans to premiere more than six new TV series from both Marvel and Star Wars, along with other exciting content. This follows a busy 2025 for Star Wars and a large number of releases for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as both studios are already preparing shows for Disney+’s seventh year.

Disney+ is planning to release ten big shows in 2026, featuring content from popular franchises like Marvel and Star Wars. This comes after a strong 2025 lineup that included the first season of Daredevil: Born Again and the third volume of Star Wars: Visions.

10 Biggest Disney+ Series Debuting in 2026

Wonder Man

Marvel’s first release of 2026 will be Wonder Man, a new show from the director of Shang-Chi, Destin Daniel Cretton, and Andrew Guest, who is also the showrunner. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will star as Simon Williams, and Sir Ben Kingsley returns as Trevor Slattery. The cast also includes Arian Moayed as Agent Cleary, Zlatko Burić as Von Kovak, Demetrius Grosse as Grim Reaper/Eric Williams, Ed Harris as Neal Saroyan, and Josh Gad playing a version of himself.

The story takes place in the main Marvel universe (Earth-616) and centers on Burić, a retired director who decides to remake the film Wonder Man. Both Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery are eager to land roles in the new movie. The first trailer shows they both get cast, but it’s unclear how Williams will transform into a superhero and balance that life with his Hollywood career.

Wonder Man will have a full-season drop (eight episodes) on January 27, 2026.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

The highly anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again, continuing the trend of more adult-oriented Marvel stories on Netflix, is set to premiere in early 2026. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin, and they’ll be joined by returning favorites like Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Jon Bernthal (Punisher), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Wilson Bethel (Bullseye), Margarita Levieva (Heather Glenn), and Matthew Lillard (Mr. Charles).

The second season will draw inspiration from the “Shadowland” comic book arc, featuring Daredevil in a new black suit and becoming the leader of The Hand. This leads other heroes to try and stop him. Meanwhile, Wilson Fisk will impose martial law on New York City, intensifying his efforts to eliminate all vigilantes.

Daredevil: Born Again will begin streaming on Disney+ on March 4, 2026.

Ahsoka Season 2

Rosario Dawson returns as Ahsoka, and she’ll be joined by Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll, and Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker, also known as Darth Vader.

Although specific plot points are still unconfirmed, the upcoming season of Ahsoka will focus on her journey to find a way back to her original universe after she and Sabine Wren become stranded on Peridea. The show will also delve deeper into her connection with Anakin Skywalker’s Force ghost, building on their history from the Clone Wars.

Ahsoka Season 2 is expected to debut in 2026, but it does not have a release timeframe yet.

X-Men ’97 Season 2

Marvel scored a major success in 2024 with X-Men ’97, and a second season is coming next year. The show is bringing back most of the original voice cast, plus exciting new additions like Neve Campbell as Polaris. Season two promises even more action-packed adventures as the series continues to reimagine the beloved ’90s cartoon.

The new season begins with the X-Men scattered throughout time. Cyclops and Jean Grey find themselves far in the future, while Professor X and Magneto are transported to ancient Egypt. They’ll have to battle powerful new enemies like Apocalypse, all while trying to return to their own time and save the world.

X-Men ’97 Season 2 will debut on Disney+ in 2026, but it does not have a confirmed release date.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2

The popular Marvel animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which unexpectedly became a hit in 2025, will return for a second season in 2026. The show features Hudson Thames as the voice of Peter Parker, alongside Grace Song as Nico Minoru, Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn, Colman Domingo as Norman Osborn, and Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln.

Season 2 will throw Peter Parker into a lot of intense situations. We’ll see the return of his father, Richard Parker, who was last seen in jail, and it looks like Doctor Octopus will be the main villain. However, Spider-Man will also have to face off against other enemies who are determined to defeat him.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 is expected to debut on Disney+ in Fall 2026.

VisionQuest

Marvel Studios is planning to release VisionQuest in 2026, concluding the story arc that began with the popular series WandaVision in 2021. Paul Bettany will return as Vision, continuing his portrayal of the character after 17 years. He’ll be joined by returning cast members James Spader as Ultron, Todd Stashwick as Paladin, Emily Hampshire as EDITH, James D’Arcy as JARVIS, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, Faran Tahir as Raza, and Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff.

This new version of White Vision, first seen in WandaVision, will embark on a global journey to recover his lost memories and sense of self after his encounter with the original Vision within Wanda Maximoff’s reality-altering Hex. Along the way, he’ll confront both familiar enemies like Ultron and new threats such as Paladin and Jocasta, and also reconnect with other AI characters from throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

VisionQuest is expected to debut on Disney+ in late 2026.

Maul – Shadow Lord

The Star Wars saga will expand on storylines from The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch with a new show called Maul – Shadow Lord. Sam Witwer will reprise his role as the iconic Darth Maul, sporting the prosthetic legs he received in Season 7 of The Clone Wars.

Details about the plot are still secret, but this new Star Wars series will be the first to focus on a villain as the main character since Darth Maul. The show is likely to expand on his story, building on his increased presence in The Clone Wars, and may depict his climb to power within the criminal world.

Although a specific release date hasn’t been announced, Maul – Shadow Lord is currently projected to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.

Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi

I’m so excited for more Star Wars: Visions! They’re adding a new story called The Ninth Jedi to the collection of tales outside the main timeline. What’s really cool is that this story is getting a follow-up! The first part was a huge hit when Season 1 came out, and I’m thrilled we get to see where it goes next. It’s rare for a Visions story to get a second chapter, so this is a special treat!

Continuing the story from previous episodes of Visions, The Ninth Jedi will follow Cara, the daughter of a lightsaber maker. We first met her in Season 3, where she was delivering special lightsabers to a Jedi gathering. While details are still under wraps, the new series is expected to show Cara working to restore the Jedi Order amidst the continuing fight against the Sith.

Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi will debut on Disney+ sometime in 2026.

Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair

Disney+ is continuing the story of the popular early 2000s sitcom, Malcolm in the Middle, with a new installment next year. Frankie Muniz, who played Malcolm, will return and will be joined by most of the original cast, including Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek, to explore what happens with his character as an adult.

I’m really excited about this new film, tentatively titled Life’s Still Unfair. It looks like it’s going to be a deeply personal story – Malcolm will be reconnecting with his parents on their 40th wedding anniversary, and at the same time, he’s stepping into a parental role himself with his own daughter. It sounds like a lot of emotional layers, and I’m definitely intrigued.

Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair is expected to hit Disney+ in Spring 2026.

The War Between the Land and the Sea

A new sci-fi series called The War Between the Land and the Sea, connected to the Doctor Who universe, is coming to both BBC One and Disney+. The show will star Gugu Mbatha-Raw, known for her role in Loki, along with Russell Tovey, Jemma Redgrave, and Alexander Devrient.

The military group UNIT will face the Sea Devils, an ancient race that has suddenly appeared, in a five-part adventure.

The new series, The War Between the Land and the Sea, will first air on BBC One on December 7, 2025, and will then be available to stream on Disney+ in 2026.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder Season 4 (Honorable Mention)

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is a continuation of the original The Proud Family, which aired on Disney+ from 2001 to 2005. Kyla Pratt is back as the voice of Penny Proud, and Tommy Davidson, Cedric the Entertainer, and Alisa Reyes reprise their roles as Oscar, Bobby, and LaCienega, respectively.

Now in its fourth season—one of many shows you can only find on Disney+ with multiple seasons—the series follows Penny and her family as they navigate life in the 2020s. Disney is bringing back The Proud Family to tackle contemporary issues and tell stories that weren’t covered in the original show.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder Season 4 will debut on Disney+ sometime in 2026.

Hey AJ! (Honorable Mention)

“Hey AJ!” is a new show on Disney Junior inspired by the “Hey, A.J.” books created by Martellus Bennett, who used to play in the NFL. Bennett also stars in the series, which follows a seven-year-old girl named A.J. and shows how she uses her imagination to turn everyday situations into adventures.

Hey AJ! is due to hit Disney+ and Disney Junior sometime in 2026.

Dragon Striker (Honorable Mention)

At the Annecy festival, Disney announced a new anime-style series called Dragon Striker. The show takes place in the world of Asteria and centers around Gorotama, a competitive magical sport.
