As a seasoned TFT player with countless hours spent on the battlefield, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming Macao Open! With a prize pool of $300K and the coveted Tactician’s Belt on the line, this is an event that every TFT enthusiast dreams of participating in.
As a long-time fan and avid participant in the TFT (Teamfight Tactics) community, I couldn’t be more excited for this year’s global LAN event. Last year’s inaugural competition in Las Vegas was an unforgettable experience, filled with intense gameplay, thrilling matches, and a sense of camaraderie among players from around the world.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that I’ll be attending the Macao Open, where I get to participate in both the Main Event and Side Events for TFT (Teamfight Tactics). In the Main Event, I’ll be joining 512 other competitors on Day 1. By Day 3, only one of us will remain, standing tall as the ultimate winner, all while battling it out on Set 13. For those not taking part in the Main Event, there are Side Events to look forward to! These include various modes like Normals and 4v4, where we can test our skills against fellow gamers. There’s also the intriguing Mastermind mode, where each player gets to control four PCs in a 1v1 battle – talk about a challenge! Last but not least, there are exclusive game modes that will keep us on our toes and provide a unique gaming experience. Can’t wait to see what the Macao Open has in store for us!
At the start of the tournament, players’ seeds will be determined by their ranking in Set 12, Magic n’ Mayhem. Following the first round, however, seeds will be reassigned using a snake draft system, with players being seeded based on the points they accumulate throughout the competition.
At the Macao Open, the tournament structure has been changed. Now, there will be an extra round on both Day 1 and Day 2. Instead of advancing the top two players after each round on Day 2, we will now move forward the top four performers.
Day 1:
- Round 1: 512 players split into lobbies of 8, playing 3 games each. Top 4 point earners advance.
- Round 2: 256 players split into lobbies of 8, playing 3 games each. Top 4 point earners advance.
- Round 3: 128 players split into lobbies of 8, playing 3 games each. Top 4 point earners advance.
Day 2:
- Round 4: 64 players split into lobbies of 8, playing 3 games each. Top 4 point earners advance.
- Round 5: 32 players split into lobbies of 8, playing 3 games each. Top 4 point earners advance.
- Round 6: 16 players split into lobbies of 8, playing 4 games each. Top 4 point earners advance to the Finals.
Day 3:
- Finals: The top 8 players will compete in a checkmate format. The first player to earn 20 points and then win a game will be crowned the TFT Macao Open Champion.
The prize pool will be distributed among the top 128 players, and an additional $100,000 will go to the top performer as their individual award.
In addition, each player in the Main Event will get a unique in-game emote as a reward, depending on their ranking group.
