For a long time, people have wondered who Leonardo DiCaprio was talking to in a short, silent video taken during a commercial break at the Golden Globes. Yesterday, his co-star Teyana Taylor jokingly claimed she knew the answer, saying she thought she’d solved the mystery. However, today she’s not so sure about her initial claim.
In a viral video, lip readers determined Leonardo DiCaprio was saying “K-pop,” leading to speculation he was referencing the award-winning show KPop Demon Hunters. Taylor Swift explained she clarified with DiCaprio that he wasn’t speaking to her about it. She mentioned her co-star, Chase Infiniti, had already explained K-pop to her, so she knew what it was. Swift playfully questioned DiCaprio if he was talking to her, but he confirmed he wasn’t.
It’s unclear who he was talking to, and neither Taylor nor anyone else seems to know. Taylor said he kept mentioning something called “KPop Demon Hunters” throughout the night, repeating the phrase over and over. He was acting strangely with whoever he was talking to, and Taylor wondered who else he was having such a playful, gossipy conversation with—comparing it to “chewing invisible gum” with someone. He couldn’t even remember who it was! While Sean Penn probably wouldn’t know anything about K-pop, it’s still a mystery whether DiCaprio would act this way with him.
