As a die-hard fan of Texas Chain Saw Massacre, I must admit that I have mixed feelings about the new patch schedule announced by Gun Interactive. On one hand, I understand their need for more time to implement major changes and create new content. After all, who wouldn’t want a fresh map or mode in this horror-filled game?
According to a recent announcement on Twitter by the developers, the frequency of Texas Chain Saw Massacre updates is going to decrease. Instead of receiving patches every two weeks, they will now be releasing them once a month.
As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that Gun Interactive has clarified the rationale behind their two-week release schedule. This frequency is crucial for implementing substantial updates such as the Skill Tree overhaul, adjustments to Grandpa Perk, and the addition of fresh cosmetics. With the shift to a monthly update cycle, developers will now have ample time to focus on refining patches, which promises an even more immersive gaming experience!
Developers assured the community that despite a potential increase in time between updates, they will continue to listen to your feedback. Additionally, this won’t impact any necessary fixes (hotfixes) that might arise between the updates.

Developers have unveiled their new strategy for releasing content and updates in Year Two of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, stating that it signifies a fresh start. They believe this approach will allow them to maintain a steady stream of new content, ensuring continued progress.
Previously, Gun has referred to a recent change in TCSM game content as a “new epoch” on more than one occasion. A few weeks ago, the studio officially revealed the introduction of their Content Pass, which CEO Wes Keltner described on social media as incorporating “a new location, a new gameplay mode, a new phase for Texas Chain Saw Massacre.”
Although developers claim that the revised patch timeline will enhance the game, some players express dissatisfaction with the alterations. Some argue it might prolong the period for bug resolution, while others highlight a preference for more frequent patches given the “multitude of ongoing problems” yet to be addressed.
Currently, Texas Chain Saw Massacre is being released with a monthly update rhythm. This means fans will have to be patient for longer periods between updates compared to earlier times. However, keep in mind that this could potentially alter in the future, depending on the game’s requirements and fan input. So far, Gun has not provided any additional information regarding changes.
