Tessa Thompson to Star in Netflix Limited Series ‘His & Hers’ Based on Alice Feeney Novel

As a dedicated movie enthusiast with an extensive background in both television and film industries, I am thrilled to learn about Tessa Thompson‘s latest project, “His & Hers,” which is set to be a psychological thriller limited series on Netflix. With her impressive resume, including roles in “Westworld,” “Veronica Mars,” and “Copper,” as well as major film franchises like “Creed” and “Thor,” Thompson’s versatility and talent are undeniable.

According to our sources, Netflix has announced that they have commissioned the production of the psychological thriller miniseries “His & Hers,” with Tessa Thompson starring in the main part.

In my perspective as a movie reviewer, I’ve learned that this upcoming series will consist of six episodes. It’s an adaptation of Alice Feeney’s eponymous novel. As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that William Oldroyd and the brilliant co-creator of “Ozark,” Bill Dubuque, are on board as writers and executive producers. Oldroyd also takes the helm as the series’ director for its premiere episode.

In the scorching Atlanta heat, Anna (Thompson), a former journalist, has been living in seclusion, gradually distancing herself from her friends and career. However, her quiet existence is disrupted when she learns about a murder in her hometown of Dahlonega. Anxious to uncover the truth, Anna delves into the investigation, drawing the suspicion of Detective Jack Harper. With two distinct perspectives at play – his and hers – it’s clear that deception is present.

Thompson, together with Oldroyd and Dubuque, will serve as an executive producer on “His & Hers” through her production company, Viva Maude. Dee Johnson assumes the role of showrunner, executive producer, and writer for the series. Campout Productions’ Kristen Campo, Freckle Films’ Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael, and Kishori Rajan from Viva Maude are also named as executive producers. Fifth Season is responsible for production under Dubuque’s overall deal with them.

Thompson has appeared on TV shows such as “Westworld,” “Veronica Mars,” and “Copper.” Notably, she has been part of two major film franchises in the last few years. She acted alongside Michael B. Jordan in the “Creed” series and joined the “Thor” films, beginning with “Thor: Ragnarok,” where she portrayed Valkyrie. She continued playing this role in “Thor: Love and Thunder” and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film “The Marvels.” Additionally, Thompson has featured in movies like “Annihilation,” “Dear White People,” “Mississippi Damned,” “For Colored Girls,” “Selma,” and “Sorry to Bother You.”

She is repped by WME, Mosaic, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Oldroyd has previously made films for the big screen, including “Lady MacBeth” and “Eileen.” With “His & Hers,” he’ll be making his first foray into television writing and directing. Dubuque is famous for creating Netflix’s “Ozark,” which had a successful four-season run and racked up an impressive 45 Emmy nominations, with three wins going to Julia Garner for outstanding supporting actress. Dubuque has also penned the scripts for movies like “The Accountant,” “A Family Man,” and “The Judge.” Johnson’s resume includes work on shows such as “ER,” “Fellow Travelers,” “Nashville,” and “The Good Wife.”

Oldroyd is represented by the following agencies: WME, United Agents, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole LLP. Dubuque is represented by CAA and Zero Gravity Management. Johnson is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
