As a long-time horror fan and gamer, I have seen my fair share of slasher films, but none quite as chilling as the Terrifier series. Art the Clown is unlike any other killer I’ve encountered, with his creepy clown mask and sadistic sense of humor. The new trailer for Terrifier 3 has me both excited and terrified.
In the first two Terrifier films, Art the Clown didn’t shy away from causing chaos and shedding blood. But in Terrifier 3, he’s raising the stakes: During the holiday season in Miles County, Art is disguised as Santa Claus, bringing not toys but terror instead. The new trailer reveals his twisted version of joy to include murder, destruction, and creating crimson-colored angels with his actions.
At a certain point, Art behaves like an entertainer when it comes to art, and donning the Santa suit is his unique touch to make his series of killings more festive. The teaser additionally introduces the comeback of Vicky Heyes, who was once Art’s victim from the initial movie. There is a possibility that she could be collaborating with him now. In the previous film, Terrifier 2, Vicky managed to endure her first encounter with Art despite his disfiguring efforts, and later seemed to contribute to his resurrection in an unusual way. We can only hope that the new movie will shed some light on their strange bond.
In the horror sequel “Terrifier 3,” it is Sienna Shaw, the reanimated young woman whom Art brutally took the life of in the previous film “Terrifier 2,” who holds the unique ability to confront these lethal adversaries. Should she manage to endure the joint assault of both Art and Vicky, Sienna will be granted another opportunity for retaliation.
David Howard Thornton plays the role of Art the Clown in the movie. Joining him are Samantha Scaffidi as Vicky Heyes, Lauren LaVera as Sienna Shaw, Elliot Fullam as Jonathan Shaw, and Daniel Roebuck portraying Santa Claus. It’s plausible that Santa is not the genuine article, and Art might have taken his costume instead.
Terrifier 3 will hit theaters on October 11.
