Terrifier 3 Santa star reveals “awful” behind-the-scenes secret

As a seasoned horror enthusiast with over three decades of gut-wrenching experiences under my belt, I can confidently say that Terrifier 3 is a masterpiece that will leave even the most hardened horror fans trembling in their seats. The gore factor has been cranked up to eleven, and Art’s backstory unfolds in a way that makes you question the very fabric of reality.

In Terrifier 3, it falls to Daniel Roebuck to portray Santa, but with Art the Clown also seeking the role, there are some very “unpleasant” events that transpire.

In a fresh and engaging manner, Damien Leone has truly exceeded expectations with Terrifier 3 in 2024. Not only does it set the bar high for gore in this year’s horror genre, but it also sheds light on the enigmatic background of the character Art.

After the triumph of Terrifier 2, Leone and his crew benefited from a larger budget, enabling them to create even more chilling scenes. This includes a kill scene aiming to surpass the intensity of the infamous bedroom scene, as well as an opening sequence so terrifying that it led to walkouts during a recent screening.

Before the premiere of the new movie on October 11, TopMob had an exclusive chat with Santa’s actor, Roebuck, who dished out a fun tidbit from the set. Keep in mind that what follows may contain some minor plot reveals.

As a gamer peering at this promotional material, I noticed Art sporting a Santa-like mask around his neck. While I won’t delve into the gruesome specifics here, Roebuck hinted that the fate of his character is “terrible” enough to warrant multiple replicas of him in the game.

The actor shared with us that he was aware the effects would be powerful, since they needed to scan him and create molds of his body.

When the events unfolded, I chose to observe from a distance as the spectacle transpired. Such actions inflicted on me are so repugnant that they wouldn’t dare involve me in them,” Roebuck expressed.

It turns out there are alternate versions of myself. And I was taken aback, thinking something along the lines of, ‘Really?’ We were puzzled, asking, ‘Why on earth did you come up with this idea? How could you even consider it?’ It’s quite unusual!

In a rather imaginative comparison, when asked about the differences between Terrifier 3 and its previous installment, Roebuck likened it to the improvement seen from Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony compared to his Fourth.

As a music enthusiast, let me express it this way: “I get what you’re saying! Beethoven hinted at it himself – ‘This one’s decent, but wait until you hear the Fifth!’ Terrifier 3 is like a maestro conducting a full symphony orchestra. The anticipation and excitement are palpable!

Admittedly having modest budgets, it’s evident in their production. However, they’re both enjoyable films. With a larger budget, the experience could be even more spectacular.

Damien recruited the talented special effects artist Christien Tinsley, who’s highly demanded in Hollywood. I’ve collaborated with him on multiple projects throughout my 40-year career. He never fails to amaze me.

When their company was tasked with turning Damien’s madness into a stunning portrayal, prepare yourself for the “Ode to Murder.” Essentially, that’s what it translates to… It’s a gory orchestra.
