Terri Miller and Andrew Marlowe, Team Behind ‘The Equalizer’ and ‘Castle,’ Sign With IAG (EXCLUSIVE)

As a movie enthusiast with a penchant for unraveling the intricate webs of crime dramas and comedies alike, I find myself consistently impressed by the duo Terri Miller and Andrew Marlowe. With their extensive resumes and knack for revitalizing established franchises like “The Equalizer” and creating original series such as “Take Two” and “Castle,” they have proven themselves to be a dynamic force in the television industry.

I, Terri Miller and Andrew Marlowe, the masterminds behind the revival of “The Equalizer” starring Queen Latifah, who led us through two successful seasons as showrunners, have decided to join forces with Independent Artist Group.

The creative duo Miller and Marlowe are responsible for “The Equalizer,” set to debut its fifth season on October 20th, under their production banner MilMar Pictures. In January of last year, the series’ premiere episode aired following the Super Bowl, attracting over 20 million viewers.

Before diving back into the popular franchise, Miller and Marlowe crafted the witty blend of crime and comedy titled “Take Two.” In this series, Rachel Bilson, a renowned actress from a trendy cop show, found herself utilizing her acting talent to excel as a detective. This captivating production graced our screens on ABC in the United States, but unfortunately, it only ran for one season. As a movie reviewer, I found it an intriguing mix of humor and suspense that was worth checking out, despite its short run.

Apart from their collaboration, this duo was instrumental in ABC’s hit crime drama “Castle.” Marlowe acted as the show’s creator and head writer, while Miller held the executive producer position. Airing for eight consecutive seasons, “Castle” featured Nathan Fillion portraying Richard Castle, a successful mystery novelist, and Stana Katic playing the role of detective Kate Beckett. Together, they tackled bizarre crimes occurring in New York City. Over time, their relationship blossomed into romance as they became smitten with one another and jointly pursued the investigation into the murder of Beckett’s mother.

Building upon the popularity of “Castle”, Marlowe and Miller devised a collection of tie-in novels that were attributed to the main character, Richard Castle.

In the same year, Miller and Marlowe crossed paths, having both emerged victorious in the Nicholl Fellowship for Screenwriting by the Motion Picture Academy. Notably, Marlowe has worked on films such as “Air Force One” starring Harrison Ford, “End of Days” alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, and “Hollow Man,” directed by Paul Verhoeven. On the other hand, Miller is renowned for his festival favorite short film “Dysenchanted” and plays an active role on the advisory board of Young Storytellers, an organization dedicated to aiding underprivileged students in discovering their writing potential.

Established in 2023 following the merger of APA and Artist Group International, this self-proclaimed “alternative to the big three” talent agencies represents a diverse roster of artists such as Billy Joel, Lily Gladstone, and 50 Cent, among numerous others.

Miller and Marlowe are still being represented by Guymon Casady at Management 360 and by lawyer Linda Lichter from the firm Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Feldman, Rogal, Shikora & Clark.
