‘Terminator Zero’ Trailer: Scientist Malcolm Lee Tries to Save the World from Skynet in Netflix Animated Spinoff (TV News Roundup)

As a fervent admirer of the dynamic world of television production, I am absolutely ecstatic about the appointment of Dikran at Hallmark Studios. With his extensive background in the entertainment industry and a strategic vision that is as sharp as a Dreamworks TV production, he is bound to steer Hallmark towards unprecedented success across both linear and SVOD platforms.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement! The ominous return of Skynet is imminent, as evidenced by the unveiling of the captivating trailer for the Netflix animated series, “Terminator: Zero”.

The story unfolds post the consequences of Skynet, an artificial intelligence entity, attaining consciousness and launching a war against humans as depicted in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.” On August 29, 1997, Skynet becomes self-aware, leading to a prolonged conflict that lasts for decades.

“The film titled ‘Terminator Zero,’ set in the year 2022, revolves around a soldier named Eiko, portrayed by Rosario Dawson. She is tasked with going back in time to alter human history. Her mission takes her to the year 1997 where she safeguards a scientist named Malcolm Lee (André Holland). He’s developing an artificial intelligence system called Kokono (Sonoya Mizuno), meant to rival Skynet. Despite being part of the Terminator universe, this story primarily focuses on fresh characters.”

In the trailer, Lee is depicted as trying to prevent Earth’s destruction at the hands of Skynet, all while evading a future-sent hitman.

I’m fortunate to join an exceptional voice cast that includes Timothy Olyphant and Ann Dowd. In this series, I’m under the expert guidance of David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger as they executive produce the show for Skydance.

The eight-episode series will be released on Aug. 29 on Netflix. Watch the trailer below.
