This year, Bitmap Bureau plans to remake the iconic sci-fi action film Terminator 2: Judgment Day into a retro side-scrolling game called Terminator 2D: No Fate. Originally scheduled for an early September release, it appears that the launch date has been pushed back due to a delay announced by the game’s publisher, Reef Entertainment.
Based on posts made on Reef’s social media platforms, the updated launch date for Terminator 2D: No Fate has been set as Halloween, or October 31. The team opted to grant Bitmap Bureau additional time to perfect some final adjustments for the day one patch, hence the delay in releasing both physical and digital versions of the game.
2D Version of Terminator: No Escape from Destiny is set to launch on October 31, 2025, after some unexpected complications in production and manufacturing have necessitated a slight delay. We regret the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience during this time.

In this game, you’ll primarily follow the narrative centered around Sarah Connor and the valiant T-800 character. Your objective, as you play, is to shield John Connor from the menacing T-1000 while working to prevent Skynet and its mechanical army from almost wiping out humanity. A unique aspect of this game is that you’ll also have the chance to control the future adult John Connor during levels depicting the war against Skynet.
On October 31st, you’ll be able to play Terminator 2D on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and personal computers.
In 2019, the latest installment in the franchise was “Terminator: Dark Fate,” but its reception at the cinema was less than favorable. Nonetheless, James Cameron, director of the initial two Terminator movies, has suggested that he’s developing a new Terminator concept for the future. In 2024, Netflix premiered an animated series titled “Terminator Zero.
