Tekken 8 sold 3 million copies. Bandai Namco revealed Season 2 first character

3 million units have been sold, and an old companion is back –

Bandai Namco unveiled the initial character coming as downloadable content for “Tekken 8” during Season 2. The character is none other than Anna Williams, the lethal sister of Nina Williams, who has been vying with her since the inception of the game series (with a few exceptions).

Originally, the developers have not only demonstrated brief clips of gameplay but also allowed fans to see how the character based on one of the Williams sisters has been updated for Tekken 8. To add to this, a new feature – a rocket launcher – has been introduced.

On April 3rd, Anna Williams will join the game for every player. Early access begins on March 31st.

3 million copies, 1,500 changes

Katsuhiro Harada, known as the creator of Tekken, revealed that the upcoming season will introduce a brand-new original character never seen before within the Tekken series’ timeline. This announcement was made during the livestream dedicated to Tekken 8’s second season.

Absolutely, Season 2 isn’t just about introducing four new characters; it also brings alterations to the game’s equilibrium and mechanics, as well as adjustments to the ranking system. The latter is set for major updates to make it more equitable and less aggravating, including the implementation of a better matchmaking system that takes player skills into account.

Developers have verified fixes concerning the Heat system (previously adjusted but requiring more fine-tuning) and controls, specifically addressing accessibility issues. Bandai Namco is set to roll out a substantial update, anticipated to include around 1,500 changes. This upcoming patch might make up for the missing balance adjustments in the recent release, which were prioritized due to significant tournaments happening in Japan and Europe this month.

Oh, by the way, it was revealed during the broadcast that approximately 3 million copies of Tekken 8 have been sold since its debut.
