Tectone hits out at Twitch after sudden ban catches him by surprise

Twitch streamer Tectone has criticized the Amazon-owned platform following his abrupt ban, which occurred during an anime viewing session.

On March 20, the former member of OTK, Tectone, was unexpectedly given a ban, since he felt he hadn’t done anything inappropriate.

On most streaming platforms like Twitch, viewers are generally prohibited from watching copyrighted material during live streams. However, there have been some instances where exceptions have been made in the past.

Example: The renowned YouTube personality, IShowSpeed, got the chance to stream his all-time favorite anime, One Piece, from start to finish, following a conversation with a production team member.

On another occasion, Disguised Toast secured an agreement with Crunchyroll that allowed him to earn money by streaming series such as Death Note.

Yet, even though Tectone lacked permission, he remained perplexed over his suspension and voiced his concerns on social platforms.

Tectone calls Twitch ban โ€œcrazyโ€ after sudden suspension

Through several posts, Tectone asserted that he wasn’t violating any rules since the platform he utilized permits users to stream anime without charge and without requiring a subscription service.

He remarked shortly after being suspended that it seemed absurd to be banned just for watching anime on a platform where it’s freely accessible without a subscription. He wondered, “What rule could I have possibly violated?

It’s hard to believe I was prohibited from streaming anime on a platform where viewers can watch it without charge, as there doesn’t seem to be any rule I violated… Could you clarify which specific rule might have been infringed upon?

Additionally, he took jabs at fellow Twitch broadcaster Hasan, who sparked debate after airing a clip concerning the Houthi faction, identified as a terroristic entity by the U.S. State Department. However, he merely received a cautionary notice from the platform in response.

Tectone quipped playfully, “Oh dear, it seems I’ve made a mistake again. No more exaggerated reactions to anime for me. Instead, I’ll channel my energy into constructive mischief, like becoming a ‘platform terror.’

Shit my bad guys,

No more anime reacting streams

I’ll be a good boy and platform terrorist instead

Fortunately, Tectone proposed that his ban could potentially be lifted as soon as March 21st, implying it wasn’t entirely due to his anime viewing habits.

As I uncovered the true explanation behind my ban, I wanted to share this with you all directly. I’ll be diving deeper into this topic during my live stream tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Whoa, hold up! Guess what? I’ve just discovered the actual reason behind my ban. Can’t wait to spill the beans about it all on stream tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿคฏ

In March, it’s not the first time a Twitch ban could leave a content creator puzzled, and we’re yet to understand the specifics of Tectone’s situation.

On March 18, the VTuber Olivia Monroe encountered an unexpected ban on Twitch, as a result of misunderstanding between her and Ubisoft regarding the start time for her sponsored Assassin’s Creed Shadows stream. The issue stemmed from Ubisoft mistaking the intended starting hour (7AM) for 7PM.
