With Taylor Swift now fully owning her music, fans like me who love her “Reputation” album can listen without a hint of guilt. This means I’ll enjoy every track on her sixth studio release worry-free. To mark the occasion, I’m going to crank up the tunes, just like Jack Antonoff and Taylor Swift are doing too!
Following reports that Taylor Swift owns all her music, her longtime friend and collaborator Jack Antonoff shared what might just be the best video yet on platform X. In the video below, he and Swift reenact a popular scene of them singing “Getaway Car,” pointing out that now we can enjoy these moments without any guilt since she owns the rights to her music.
If you fancy a history trip, there’s an endearing video from way back when Swift and Antonoff penned the iconic tune “Getaway Car.” It shows them enthusiastically brainstorming lyrics, which Swift fans absolutely adore. Over time, these musicians have played along, even reenacting that moment during a surprise performance during the Eras Tour in 2023.
In a new update, the frontman of Bleachers gracefully recaptures the essence of penning the extraordinary lyrics from “Getaway Car,” and their joyful performance vividly encapsulates my own feelings towards these developments.

A Big Taylor Swift Milestone Quietly Came And Went In April
My go-to Taylor Swift album is “Reputation”; I consider it a true masterpiece. Among her songs, “Getaway Car” holds a special place for me as well. Since Taylor Swift sold her masters and announced plans to re-record them, I’ve eagerly anticipated the release of “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)“. I had hoped this project would be next on her agenda, allowing me to transition from listening to a version she didn’t own at that moment.
Regardless of the years spent entertaining, Rep (TV) never materialized in the end. Consequently, I continued to listen to the original version, belted out every lyric alongside it during the Eras Tour, and maintained optimism that one day we could all join Taylor in singing her re-recorded album version.
We acquired Taylor’s re-recorded versions of “Fearless” (1989, Red) and “Speak Now,” and I updated all my playlists to include them. However, the original version of “Reputation” still lingered. I found myself constantly wondering when Taylor would release the new version so we could re-embrace this album once more, as it’s certain that she will dominate it again.
Well, now we can, and I can listen, as Antonoff wrote, “guilt free” and at full volume!
You’ll often find me blasting this album non-stop, streaming the Rep segment of the Eras Tour on Disney+, hoping that the concert film will reappear for Netflix subscribers soon. Taylor Swift’s latest, Reputation, has us all pumped up, so let’s turn up the speakers and passionately belt out “Getaway Car” like Taylor herself and Jack Antonoff!
