During the unveiling of the Natalia Grace series on Good American Family, star Ellen Pompeo disclosed that Taylor Swift generously donated a substantial sum to her, not for any expected reasons.

Known predominantly for her portrayal of Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy over almost two decades, Pompeo is now showcasing her acting skills in a completely new part, taking on the role of Kristine Barnett, who was once Natalia Grace’s adoptive mother.

The heartwarming series, “Good American Family,” narrates the real-life tale of Natalia, who was lovingly adopted by Kristine and Michael Barnett in the year 2010. In the following two years, they altered Natalia’s legal age from eight to 22 years old and subsequently moved her into an apartment on her own.

This intriguing tale is unlike anything you’ve read in a novel, featuring various viewpoints. In fact, Episode 4 of the Hulu series is set to premiere this week. During her recent interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Pompeo discussed the upcoming TV show in greater depth and even shared insights into her friendship with Swift.

Taylor Swift, the singer behind ‘All Too Well’, quickly wrote a substantial check for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles upon their initial encounter with Pompeo, as it was in support of a noble cause.

As a devoted fan, I can tell you that my friendship with Ellen Pompeo seems to have sprung from our shared love for Grey’s Anatomy. In fact, I named one of my cats after her beloved character! This bond was further strengthened when I invited her to star in my ‘Bad Blood’ music video back in 2015. It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to know Ellen and sharing our mutual passion for this amazing show.

In their initial encounter, Good American Family star expressed that she and her husband, Chris Ivery, often volunteer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. They especially appreciate a unique program at the hospital where musicians create music specifically for premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

For working parents who can’t physically be with their children during the day, they often record themselves singing nursery rhymes or telling stories. These recordings are then played for the infants on days when the parents aren’t present. This interaction, even though it’s not face-to-face, seems to have a positive impact on the babies, improving their overall outcomes.

Pompeo stated that the program is excellent, however, it requires funds to operate. He jokingly asked Taylor, ‘Could you write me a substantial donation for Children’s?’ Surprisingly, within less than 20 minutes of knowing him, she wrote him one of the largest checks without batting an eye.

In a subsequent conversation, Pompeo touched upon the prospect of him reprising his role as Meredith Grey in Grey’s Anatomy’s Season 22, though it hasn’t received the final approval from ABC and only rumors suggest its likelihood.
