In a shift reminiscent of Taylor Swift’s upcoming album “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)”, Justin Baldoni‘s legal team has decided to no longer pursue Taylor Swift in the trial for “It Ends With Us”, against Blake Lively. After 12 days, they have withdrawn a subpoena issued to Swift earlier this month. A spokesperson for Lively told People that they supported Swift’s team in their attempt to quash these unwarranted subpoenas directed at her legal counsel. They will continue to advocate for any third party who is unfairly harassed or threatened during the process. Initially, Baldoni’s team alleged that Lively exploited her friendship with Swift and her ‘megacelebrity’ status to influence Lively’s role in the film against Baldoni. However, Taylor Swift’s legal team asserted that Swift was only involved in the film by licensing one of her songs.
The withdrawal of the subpoena occurred not long after a judge dismissed Baldoni’s team’s extortion allegation as unrelated to the trial set for March 2026, which is essentially a comprehensive review of all the ongoing lawsuits between Baldoni and Lively. This legal tour will cover all the mutual accusations, including Lively’s labeling of Swift as one of her “dragons.” If you were to ask her directly, she might describe herself more as a snake.
