Taraji P. Henson’s TPH Entertainment Names Jamila Jordan-Theus as Head of Development and Production (EXCLUSIVE)

As a die-hard fan of captivating storytelling and diverse representation, I am simply ecstatic about Taraji P. Henson bringing Jamila Jordan-Theus on board at TPH Entertainment! With her impressive track record in the industry, from Emmy-winning productions to collaborations with powerhouses like Robin Roberts and Marsai Martin, Jordan-Theus is a force to be reckoned with.

Taraji P. Henson’s company, TPH Entertainment, has brought on Emmy-winning producer Jamila Jordan-Theus in the role of Head of Development and Production.

In her fresh position, Jordan-Theus is responsible for managing scripted shows, movies, and unscripted material at TPH Entertainment. Henson, an award-winning actor who has been nominated for Golden Globes, Emmys, Oscars, and SAG Awards, established this company in 2020.

“Jamila Jordan-Theus has been warmly welcomed to TPH Entertainment by Henson in a statement about her new role. Her vision, inventiveness, and ardor for storytelling are an ideal fit for our aim to showcase daring, genuine, and varied voices. We’re eager to collaborate with her and push the limits of creativity, producing content that will strike a chord with audiences globally.”

Jordan-Theus stated: “Taraji P. Henson is a highly productive force and a significant figure in this field. I am thrilled to be working with her at TPH Entertainment as we continue to grow alongside other innovative minds, storytellers, and artists. Our aim is to honor cultural richness and question societal conventions by creating meaningful, empowering, and captivating content.”

Through their agreement with BET Studios, TPH Entertainment is currently working on several projects, one of which is a series adaptation of the novel “Moorewood Family Rules” by HelenKay Dimon. EbMaster was first to break the news about this project earlier this month, with Henson set to star and produce, and Justin Simien signed on as director. TPH Entertainment is partnering with Hartbeat and Culture Machine for the production.

Jordan-Theus has moved to TPH Entertainment from her position as the head of motion pictures at Genius Entertainment, which is owned by Marsai Martin. At Genius, she was instrumental in creating feature films such as “Fantasy Football” for Paramount+. Before that, she held roles as a creative executive at The SpringHill Company and director of unscripted development at Sirens Media/ITV Studios. Her portfolio includes contributions to shows like the Emmy-winning “Turning The Tables with Robin Roberts,” YouTube Originals’ “Best Shot,” Netflix’s “7 Days Out,” Paramount’s “Ink Master,” and CNN’s “Dreamland: The Rise and Fall of Black Wall Street.” Additionally, she co-produced the live social impact series “Bear Witness, Take Action” for YouTube.
