It’s been announced that the prominent Taiwanese film distributor, Vie Vision Pictures, has obtained exclusive distribution rights in Taiwan for the Indo-Taiwanese action buddy comedy “Demon Hunters.” This information was shared during the Cannes Film Market.
The movie is headed by director Chen Mei-Juin, known for “The Gangster’s Daughter”, and jointly produced by Light House Productions of Taiwan and Kleos Entertainment Group from India.
The storyline revolves around an unusual alliance between a Taiwanese video blogger specializing in the supernatural and an Indian technology expert, who find themselves compelled to team up in order to fight off a dangerous supernatural menace that poses a risk to their respective realms.
This film’s main actors are Arjan Bajwa from India (known for the Prime Video series “Bestseller”), J.C. Lin from Taiwan (“Breaking and Re-entering”), Regina Lei, Jack Kao, and Harry Chan. The cinematographer is Tony Cheung, a seasoned professional from Hong Kong (“Hidden Strike”).
Currently in post-production, “Demon Hunters” is targeting a winter 2025 theatrical release.
Cindy Shyu, the producer and founder of Light House Productions, expressed her excitement about collaborating with Vie Vision Pictures to present ‘Demon Hunters’ to viewers in Taiwan.
Gayathiri Guliani, a co-producer at Kleos Entertainment Group, stated that Vie Vision’s dedication to creating Taiwanese content and globally appealing material makes them the perfect collaborator for this groundbreaking venture.
Since its establishment in 2006, Vie Vision Pictures has significant investors like VieShow Cinemas and Miramar Cinema, who collectively own about half of the market share for movie screenings in Taiwan, making up around 50%.
As a cinephile penning my thoughts on Vie Vision Pictures’ latest offering, ‘Demon Hunters’, I find myself captivated by this cultural gem. It’s more than just a movie; it’s a vibrant bridge connecting us to the heart of Taiwanese culture. The narrative is fresh, commercially appealing, and richly imbued with local flavor – a cinematic journey that resonates profoundly with fellow film enthusiasts in Taiwan.
