Although Taco Bell is recognized as a fast-food chain that specializes in Mexican-style food, it introduced a popular American dish, crunchy chicken nuggets, into its menu in the year 2024.
Unexpectedly, the new addition on the menu ignited a multitude of responses online, with many expressing eagerness to purchase it by saying “just take my money.” This enthusiasm is understandable, given that fast-food enthusiasts are going crazy over the crunchy jalapeno buttermilk-marinated nuggets, which are encased in tortilla chips.
The dishes didn’t stay on the list for very long… however, there’s no need for fans to fret, as the company is planning their return in a more permanent way with their upcoming project.

Taco Bell’s crispy chicken nuggets were so popular they’re becoming permanent
Taco Bell’s top marketing executive, Taylor Montgomery, disclosed in a press release dated April 17 that the popular items will now be a regular menu feature due to their immense popularity among customers. Intriguingly, these items were completely sold out within just a few days when they first appeared on the menu back in December 2024.
Due to an overwhelming response from our customers for our chicken nuggets, we’re considering making them permanently crispy to deliver what our fans have been asking for, as stated by Montgomery.
Although we’re not typically recognized as a go-to for crispy chicken, our nuggets do all the talking – they’re distinctive, unique, and there’s no mistaking them as Taco Bell’s.” (He also mentioned this.)
On April 24, 2025, the nuggets made their return to the menu, with plans to make them a permanent fixture starting from 2026.
