Taco Bell is adding a spicy-sweet new item to its menu: fries flavored with sauces from Zab’s Hot Sauce. It’s available for a limited time only.
Starting April 16th, Zab’s Chicken Ranch will offer its new Nacho Fries across the country. This is the first time the chain has teamed up with a partner to create a unique flavor, featuring Datil Pepper hot sauce.
Taco Bell is continuing to innovate its Nacho Fries, and this latest release combines sweet and spicy flavors in a unique new topping and sauce combination.
Taco Bell unveils Zab’s Chicken Ranch Nacho Fries with Datil Pepper heat
The main highlight of this launch is Zab’s Ranch, a unique sauce created by blending Zab’s popular “St. Augustine Style” hot sauce with Taco Bell’s Spicy Ranch flavor.
These fries are loaded with tender, slow-roasted chicken, creamy nacho cheese, a mix of three cheeses, and fresh pico de gallo. They’re finished with a sweet and spicy ranch dressing and cost $5.49.
Taco Bell is constantly looking for ways to improve its menu, and our partnership with Zab’s did just that,” said Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s head of food innovation. “We worked together to create a unique ranch sauce for Taco Bell that’s creamy, well-balanced, and has a subtle sweetness and heat from the Datil Pepper. It really takes our Nacho Fries to the next level.”
I’m a huge fan of Zab’s sauce, and what makes it so special is they use Datil peppers. These peppers are grown right in St. Augustine, Florida, and they have this amazing flavor – really sweet and tangy at first, but then a nice heat slowly builds. It’s seriously delicious!
According to Miles Soboroff, co-founder and CEO of Zab’s, Datil peppers offer a unique taste – a combination of sweetness, tanginess, and a gradually increasing heat. They’ve combined their signature ‘St. Augustine Style’ hot sauce with Taco Bell’s Spicy Ranch to create a sweet and spicy flavor that perfectly complements Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries. This partnership also helps Zab’s achieve its goal of popularizing the Datil pepper – a pepper at risk of disappearing – and making it a common ingredient in American cuisine.
Starting with the launch, Taco Bell Rewards members can enter to win a special, limited-edition gift bag filled with sauce through the Tuesday Drops program on April 21st.
