Switch 2’s Price Could Affect “Early Adoption,” Nintendo Says

During a recent financial discussion, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa was questioned about their prediction to sell 15 million Switch 2 units in this fiscal year (approximately 10 months for the console). Furukawa suggested that the price point plays a significant role in their sales estimation.

Furukawa stated that due to the higher price point of the Nintendo Switch 2, there may be hurdles for early adopters. However, he added that since the new console can run software from its predecessor, Nintendo Switch, there’s a sense of continuity between the two systems. To boost initial sales, they plan to offer bundled software with hardware during the first fiscal year, aiming for the same successful launch as the original Nintendo Switch.
