Switch 2 Supply Should Be Ready For Demand In US, Says Nintendo Of America Boss

According to Nintendo of America, there’s a strong likelihood that the supply of Switch 2 will be plentiful in the U.S. this year. The preorders were snapped up quickly upon the June 5 launch, but President Doug Bowser is optimistic about their production strategy for 2025, which takes into account the peak holiday season as well.

In an interview with IGN, the president of Nintendo of America stated, “Regarding the demand for Switch 2 in the U.S., we are confident that we will produce and supply enough units to satisfy consumer requests. We’ve noticed a lot of enthusiasm for Switch 2 from early on, as evidenced by our preorders, and we have a strategy in place to ensure a steady stream of products available up until the holiday season.

According to what Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa mentioned recently, the prediction of selling 15 million units of the new system isn’t primarily based on production numbers. Instead, he emphasized that the increased price of the upcoming Switch 2 compared to the initial Switch might have the most significant impact on hardware sales in this year.

Digital Foundry recently looked into the specifications of Switch 2 and found that Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is not available in docked mode on this system. It appears that Nintendo has made a subtle change, withdrawing VRR support in docked mode, although the handheld screen does offer VRR compatibility. Other interesting details about the versatile console include settings to prolong battery life and personalized adjustments for the GL/GR buttons for each game.

Switch 2 will cost $450 in the US when it arrives next month, alongside Mario Kart World.
