In advance, it has been revealed that The Switch 2 will have greater capabilities than its predecessor. One example of this enhanced power is evident with Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, which is set to launch on the new system. Notably, this game’s additional DLC content was not released for PS4 and Xbox One. Furthermore, it has been reported by Eurogamer that Cyberpunk 2077 will be the first title to support Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) on the new platform.
In an earlier blog post this month, Nvidia announced that the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 would incorporate DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), a technology powered by AI. This feature has been mentioned as being able to enhance resolution for improved details without compromising image quality on the new console. So far, no Switch 2 game has taken advantage of this technology, but CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be using it.
According to the developer, they are employing a specific version of Deep Learning Super-Sampling (DLSS) that is compatible with the potential hardware of Nintendo Switch 2. This technology is driven by Nvidia’s Tensor cores. The game applies DLSS across all four modes: whether it’s being played in handheld or docked, and there are performance and visual differences between each mode.

two docked modes and the quality mode during handheld play will aim for a 1080p resolution. In contrast, the RPG will output at a 720p resolution in performance mode, maintaining 40 frames per second only using the tablet.
Recently confirmed, Cyberpunk 2077 is set for Switch 2 and will utilize touchscreen inputs and mouse functions with the updated Joy-Cons. Regarding The Witcher 3’s upgrade on Switch 2, CD Projekt Red is currently prioritizing Cyberpunk 2077. However, the upcoming sci-fi RPG isn’t the only Switch 2 game that has Digital Foundry intrigued due to its impressive technical aspects. Star Wars Outlaws, a massive open-world game that didn’t launch on previous generation consoles, is also drawing attention in this regard.
As a thrilled enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the long-awaited Switch 2 is all set to hit the shelves on June 5! The best part? It’ll be priced at an affordable $450. If you’re in the US, get ready because preorders will officially open this week, starting April 24!
