Switch 2 Joy-Con HD Rumble Won’t Be As Noisy As Original Switch

The upgraded Switch 2 boasts significant enhancements across almost all its hardware components when compared to the initial model. It seems that the reduced noise produced by the Joy-Con’s HD rumble is one of these improvements.

According to Nintendo’s official website about backwards compatible games, they have lowered the intensity of the HD rumble feature on the new Joy-Con 2 controllers compared to the original Joy-Con controllers for the Nintendo Switch, making it less noticeable or loud during gameplay.

Instead of the revamped Joy-Cons being an overall upgrade from their predecessors, which often produced a lot of noise during vibration, they might pose a challenge for one specific game within Everybody 1-2-Switch. Specifically, due to the decrease in volume, it could make locating the concealed Joy-Con 2 more challenging in the minigame Joy-Con Hide & Seek, as reported by Nintendo.

In simpler terms, the new Joy-Con 2 controllers may not work with some games like Ring Fit Adventure and different Nintendo Labo sets, but most Nintendo Switch games should still be playable on the Nintendo Switch 2 due to backward compatibility.

On June 5th, you can get your hands on the latest model, called The Switch 2. The device itself is priced at $450. However, if you’re interested in the Mario Kart World bundle, be aware that it will only be available until Fall 2025, and it comes with a higher price tag of $500. Unfortunately, preorders for both have been exhausted, but luckily, accessories and games related to The Switch 2 are still on sale at various retailers.

In preparation for the release of Nintendo Switch 2, they’ve just rolled out a significant software update for the initial Switch model. This update introduces features such as Virtual Playing Cards, GameSharing compatibility, and a system migration tool specifically designed for the upcoming Switch 2.
