SVC Chaos Gets Steam Re-Release, Console Versions Coming Soon

As a long-time fighting game enthusiast and avid gamer, I can’t contain my excitement about SNK’s recent announcements at Evo! Growing up in the golden age of arcades, I remember spending countless hours playing the original Capcom vs. SNK games and marveling at the epic battles between iconic characters from both companies.

As a passionate gamer, I’m thrilled to share that SNK made some exciting announcements at this year’s Evo event! Not only did they unveil new characters for two other games, but they also brought back a classic – SNK Vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos! Best part? PC gamers can download it right now on Steam. And if you prefer playing on PS4 or Nintendo Switch, you’ll have the chance to get your hands on it starting Monday.

SVC Chaos’s comeback brings several improvements to the 2003 fighting game. Players can now use hitbox indicators for more accurate training sessions, and there’s an art gallery filled with cool artwork. Additionally, multiplayer features will be offered, supported by rollback netcode for smoother online gaming experience. Up to nine players can join online lobbies simultaneously, and a tournament mode is included with various bracket formats.

In this updated edition, a total of 36 characters make up the playable roster, hailing from Capcom and SNK. Among them are popular figures like Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter, as well as Terry and Mai from Fatal Fury. Additionally, less common characters such as Mars People from Metal Slug (SNK) and Tessa from Red Earth have been included. An intriguing addition to this new version is the unlocking of the secret bosses Athena and Red Arremer, allowing their use right from the beginning of the game.

Back in the summer of 2003, I got introduced to SVC Chaos for the first time. It was an exciting collaboration between SNK and Capcom, a part of their Capcom Vs. SNK series. Before our beloved project went its separate way, Capcom had already dropped two crossover games into the gaming community: Capcom Vs. SNK and Capcom Vs. SNK 2.

The fighting game SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is now available on Steam. The PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions will be released on Monday. To keep up with Evo 2024, don’t miss out on the complete streaming schedule, featuring all the tournament action spread across seven different Twitch channels.
