On the 5th of April, Susan Senk, an experienced entertainment publicist and marketing professional who was involved in over 400 movie promotions, passed away in Manhattan.
She was a 17½-year heart-transplant survivor.
To begin with, Senk had a career in the music sector. Later, she transitioned to film promotion, earning recognition and respect not only domestically but also globally.
Initially, she was a founding member of Vestron Video. Later on, she moved to London, serving as Vice President of Creative Services at Vestron International. In this role, she spearheaded the company’s growth in foreign markets and managed international marketing campaigns for their video releases.

After starting out as part of Vestron Video’s founding team, she subsequently shifted to London, becoming Vice President of Creative Services at Vestron International. Here, she was instrumental in expanding the company into overseas markets and coordinating international marketing efforts for their video releases.
After leaving her previous location, Senk went back to the United States and took up a role as Vice President of Publicity and Promotion at Vestron Pictures. Here, she created and executed release and award-winning campaigns for the company’s cinematic productions, such as the 1987 blockbuster “Dirty Dancing,” which became the highest-grossing independent film at that time with a total of $213 million worldwide.
Previously, she held the position of Vice President for International Publicity and Marketing at Columbia TriStar Film Distributors International (which is part of Sony), based in Los Angeles. Later, she established Susan Senk PR in New York City. More recently, she has been serving as an international festival consultant for Sony Pictures International Releasing.
For many years, Senk had been a part of the esteemed Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Additionally, he held membership in the Recording Academy in the past.
She is left behind by her business partner, Linda Senk Altman, as well as her sibling, Linda’s husband Scott Altman.
