Nathan Fillion has given a blunt critique of his Superman character, labeling Guy Gardner as the most flawed among the Green Lanterns, and poking fun at his uncommon bravery towards Superman.
In plain terms: The initial Green Lantern movie didn’t do well with critics or audiences, leading its star, Ryan Reynolds, to hilariously ridicule it in the film Deadpool 2.
However, the revamped DC Universe has thoughtfully arranged a future series titled “Lanterns,” where Aaron Pierce portrays the John Stewart version of the character.
Prior to Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern making an appearance alongside Superman, actor Nathan Fillion has shared his take on the character.
The Guy Gardner Green Lantern believes he can beat Superman
In the story by James Gunn titled “Superman,” the character Guy Gardner, who is also known as Green Lantern, is a member of a group often referred to as ‘The Justice League,’ alongside Kendra Saunders, who is recognized as Hawkgirl, and Michael Holt, who goes by Mister Terrific.
In addition to being part of the Green Lantern Corps, character Gardner isn’t necessarily top-tier as revealed by actor Nathan Fillion. During his interview with Entertainment Weekly, he stated: “It’s fun to think that if an emergency arises and you need a Green Lantern – there are countless ones scattered across the galaxy – this is the one you’d least want.
As a gamer, I’d put it this way: “Guy Gardner isn‘t shy about his abilities, and that’s clear to Fillion.
With his Power Ring, Gardner is able to manifest nearly anything his imagination can think up. According to EW, this power is utilized during a major conflict in Superman, where Guy summons a colossal green hand from the earth to swat away a group of soldiers.
Here’s an update on additional Man of Steel content: post-credit scenes, theories about a possible Justice League film, and modifications James Gunn implemented following audience feedback in test screenings. Also, mark your calendars as Superman movie tickets will soon be available for purchase!
