Over the past week, fans eagerly waiting for James Gunn’s upcoming film have had quite an exciting time. Earlier this week, a sneak peek was released that resonated deeply with those fond of Superman. Now, it seems that DC Film News has shared a social media post hinting at an opportunity for Superman enthusiasts to catch the new movie featuring David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman a few days prior to its official cinema premiere.
DC Film News shared a sneak peek on social media that they’re planning an “Advanced Screening” of Superman on July 7. Although the movie opens in theaters on July 11, it seems like only Amazon Prime members can secure tickets for this early showing. This is reminiscent of the event held last month. To grab tickets for the screening closest to you, Prime users will need to sign into their account; however, as of now, no ticket purchase links have been made available.
The Film Could Break a DC Film Record
Approaching about two months before the official release, there’s a lot of excitement building up around the movie titled “Superman.” This film features an impressive cast including Nicholas Hoult, Skyler Gisondo, Milly Alcock, along with others like Nathan Fillion and Rachel Brosnahan. The buzz is particularly strong as it prepares for its premiere weekend.
According to industry expert Jeff Sneider on a podcast, Gunn’s upcoming project is projected to earn around $175 million, but it remains unclear if it could surpass this figure or reach over $200 million during its opening weekend. Sneider cautioned that as the movie is still about two months away, these projections may change. If Superman manages a $175 million debut, it would outperform Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which earned $166 million in its opening weekend back in 2016.
In the newly created DC Universe by Gunn, Superman will be making his first appearance in theaters. A sneak peek of the movie was revealed this week, offering fans a more detailed glimpse.
A Special Cameo in Superman
In addition, Chris Reeve, who portrayed the Man of Steel in the original movies and their subsequent sequels, is set to make a brief appearance in the upcoming film “Superman”. His son, Will Reeve, will appear as a television news anchor within the movie.
Speaking on a show earlier this year, ABC News correspondent Will Reeve expressed that although his father’s portrayal of Superman made him a legendary superhero actor, he has no aspirations to don the cape himself as Superman. Reeve clarified that despite never being offered the role, he would have declined if he had been asked.
“I’ve Never Gotten the Ask”
As a gamer, let me tell you, I’ve never been handed the chance on a silver platter. Growing up with parents who excelled in entertainment, I grasped early on that success, especially in this field, requires a skillset as essential as air to breathe. For me, acting was merely an extension of my identity, something I did in school plays. It wasn’t a need, it was just part of who I was.
However, realizing I was an ambitious individual, I decided to focus my energies on the things that truly ignite my passion – which led me to journalism.
