What happens in the Supergirl trailer?

The new Supergirl trailer shows the hero leaving Earth to celebrate her 21st birthday. Things soon go wrong, and she finds herself on a mission for revenge. This involves a conflict with a villain named Krem of the Yellow Hills, played by Matthias Schoenaerts, and a young woman named Ruthye Marye Knoll, played by Eve Ridley.

David Krumholtz plays Zor-El, Emily Beecham is Alura In-Ze, Jason Momoa appears as Lobo, and Ferdinand Kingsley plays Elias Knoll in the cast.

Supergirl, also known as Kara Zor-El, teams up with a surprising ally after a dangerous enemy attacks those she cares about. Together, they embark on a vast, space-spanning quest for both revenge and to do what’s right.

The new Supergirl series draws inspiration from the comic book miniseries Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The story begins with Kara Zor-El feeling lost and without direction. She survived the destruction of her planet and came to Earth to protect her cousin, but he ultimately didn’t need her help, leaving her questioning her purpose. Feeling overshadowed by Superman, she’s on the verge of giving up when a young alien girl arrives seeking her assistance. This girl’s home world has been destroyed, and she’s determined to get revenge on those responsible, even if it means risking everything. Together, Supergirl, a dog, and this heartbroken girl embark on a dangerous space journey that will profoundly change them all.

Supergirl will be released on June 26, 2026.
