As a die-hard fan of the Dark Knight who has been through countless Batman iterations since I first donned my cape and cowl, I must say that Super7’s 1989 Batmobile is nothing short of breathtaking! Growing up with Tim Burton’s vision of Gotham City, this vehicle holds a special place in my heart. The attention to detail, from the spinning turbine fan to the machine gun casings and grappling hooks, is simply astounding.
From where does he acquire such fantastic toys? There’s no doubt it’s Super7. In honor of the 35th anniversary of the 1989 blockbuster Batman, we have the Batmobile from the Super Cyborg series by Super7. This vehicle, designed originally by illustrator Julian Caldow under the guidance of Tim Burton and Anton Furst (who won an Oscar for his work as a production designer in the film), is 13 inches long and 5 inches wide, ready to move
The powerful appearance of this vehicle showcases a rotating turbine fan, movable wheels, intricate designs such as mock machine gun casings, grappling hooks, double batwing fairings, and various other elements, according to the product description. Reminiscent of toys in the Super Cyborg series, you can remove the outer shell to reveal its hidden inner workings
“Open the topmost panels on the outside of the vehicle to reveal the sophisticated internal components of the Caped Crusader’s crime-fighting vehicle. You’ll see a powerful V-12 supercharged engine with two front-positioned machine guns, a cockpit featuring advanced telecommunications equipment and a rotating steering wheel, oil slick dispensers and smoke emitters situated at the back, and a turbine exhaust with an afterburner.”
This is the initial Batmobile model in the Super Cyborg series, and I’m eagerly anticipating additional features like the “cocoon” armor for this specific design, along with plans to include the armors from Batman Forever and Batman & Robin later on. Super7 has been consistently producing outstanding vehicles across their product range, such as the Pizza Party Wagon from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, which TopMob got a sneak peek of before its release
The Batmobile is available for and retails for $125.
