Super Smash Bros Ultimate & more finally fixed for Nintendo Switch 2

Upon the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, countless enthusiasts eagerly purchased the device and installed their preferred titles, be it the latest Mario Kart World or a retro adventure from the past. However, some fans found that these games didn’t operate as expected.

At the time of its launch, while it wasn’t completely hidden information, around 2% of the original Nintendo Switch games didn’t function properly on the subsequent console. Since then, Nintendo has pledged that almost all their games will eventually be compatible with the Switch 2. However, this assurance hasn’t prevented a variety of titles from experiencing issues such as failure to run, save, or work with the new Joy-Cons.

Fortunately, even with some games experiencing issues, Nintendo has been diligently working to rectify these problems and make them playable again. Just recently, they’ve released an update that has successfully resolved six fantastic games.

Six games fixed for the Nintendo Switch 2

Starting with the June 19th firmware upgrade, these games have become completely playable on the Nintendo Switch 2 without any issues and are now backward compatible.

  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  • Capcom Fighting Collection 2
  • Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
  • Nintendo Switch Sports

Earlier, during online Super Smash Bros. Ultimate games, if a player with a Switch 2 and another with an original Switch met and one of them was employing the Mii Fighter, there was a chance the game would conclude instantaneously. However, this issue has since been resolved.

With the latest software update, all additional game titles can now run smoothly on both the new Switch 2 and the original Switch model. This includes their multiplayer functionalities as well.

Hey there, gaming buddy! Rest assured, I’m keeping tabs on any broken games in my Nintendo library that aren’t playing nicely with the backwards compatibility. I know how bummed we both get when our favorite titles don’t work as expected. But here’s some good news: The team is working diligently to squash those bugs and restore these games back to their former glory. So, if you find yourself missing out on a game or experiencing issues, hang in there – it shouldn’t be too long before we’re back to gaming together without a hitch!
