Noted YouTube personality, Summoning Salt, astonished viewers when he unveiled his identity as part of announcing the release of a VHS collection featuring his video content.
Among YouTubers who chronicle the annals of speedrunning, none might excel quite like Summoning Salt.
Beyond just excelling as an accomplished speedrunner himself, having defeated Mike Tyson from the Punch-Out game in less than two minutes, he also produces numerous videos that detail the advancement of world records across various video game titles.
As a renowned speedrunner, I’ve been hiding behind my screen for quite some time now. But on June 19, I decided it was time to step out from the shadows and show my face to the world – after all, it’s the community that has helped me reach this level of success!
Summoning Salt finally reveals what he looks like
For the first time in his recent YouTube video, ‘Super Smash Bros Melee Break The Targets,’ it was Summoning Salt who made an appearance on-screen.
Greetings! It seems like we haven’t crossed paths earlier,” he stated, dressed in a suit and tie. “My name is Summoning Salt, and I find myself in your presence today to share some thrilling news with you.
It transpired that Summoning Salt unveiled his visage to declare the availability of VHS editions of his videos, expressing his affection for tangible media and the sentimental appeal of the VHS format.

The YouTube personality intends to re-distribute his videos periodically, approximately every few months, on VHS tapes. The initial release will feature a recap of Halo 2’s world records history.
Beyond just being updated, this video will actually provide a fresh perspective, showcasing the developments that have taken place with the record since its initial posting on YouTube.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled that Summoning Salt is considering releasing all his timeless videos in this updated format! If the Halo 2 VHS does exceptionally well, it will empower him to continue this journey even further.
At the moment, a VHS is being sold for $34.99. If you’re a fan, don’t miss out! You’ve got just 14 days left to grab one before it disappears for good.

The speedrunner mentioned that he usually prefers not to appear on camera during his videos, but since this was a unique event for his VHS announcement, he decided to make an exception.
“It’s pretty surreal after more than 8 years of anonymity,” he said.
